We have the snap n go stroller (not the travel system) that you snap the infant car seat into. I am trying to decide whether we should take that or my regular stroller. We have the Jeep stroller. My son will be almost 6 months. He is starting to try to sit up and holds himself up very well. We used the snap and go and carseat for a day trip when he was 3 months and it worked well. This is a weeklong trip. Does anyone have any experience. I am wondering if he will sit comfortably and securely in the jeep stroller. I also have a 5 year old, but youngest is not big enough for the double Disney stroller.

It was a little more difficult to load the two pieces on and off the bus. So those of you with travel systems, do you prefer to have the infant seat?

Thank you for your opinions!

I'm not sure how big your son is, but my DS is 2 now and at 6 months he would have been to big to be in his carrier for that amount of time. I would suggest not using the carrier seat and looking into a sling or front carrier along with your jeep stroller. You will be able to use the stroller for storage as well. Enjoy your trip!

I would NOT use the carseat. In my experience, as kids learn to sit up, they do not want to be laying down all day, every day, for a week. Sitting up, even reclined, in a regular stroller will allow him to see everything that is going on around him. As long as your stroller reclines for naps you should be fine. If it doesnt, I would buy one that does.

IDK how big your child is either, but around 6 month my ds was around the 20 lb mark, so we had to move him out of the infant seat anyway.
He rode comfortably (partiallyreclined) in our graco stroller starting about 4 mo.

I took my little princess when she was nearly 5 months old and although we brought the car seat with us (we rented a car) we DID NOT bring it to the parks and we used our regular stroller. It worked out PERFECTLY.

Thank you all for the great advice. You helped to reinforce what I was already thinking. My little one is still comfortable in his infant seat. He is not quite 15 lbs. The infant seat does actually sit up (almost like my regular, so he would not be flat on his back), but it faces towards me and I think he would like to see. We did a trial run aound the neighborhood with him in the Jeep, and he really enjoyed being able to see everything. He looked back at me with a great big smile! :teeth: I was concerned that he might pitch forward or sideways since he is still not completely stable, and the Jeep does not have a five point harness, but it tightened enough that it held him comfortable. It doesn't have the partial recline. It is either straight up or flat, but it does allow more room.

I do have a front carrier I am planning to use, as well. That's another reason I would prefer the regular stroller. My 5yo DS would be able to sit in it if he gets tired, while I hold his brother. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for your thoughts. They helped tremendously!
