Stroller Sun Shades - Are they necessary?

We're going to Disney in two weeks with our 14 month old. Am I crazy to think that I might need a sun shade? We're renting a Bob from Kingdom (it's what we have at home as our primary stroller so we're very familiar with it). His feet will probably stick out from under the sun shade at certain points of the day. Obviously, we're going to use ALL the sunscreen., but I was thinking of getting either a RoSK sun shade to tie to the snack tray or this Buggy Guard sun shade. Am I crazy? Is this something we shouldn't worry about?

I have never felt the need for an extra shade at Disney; but we haven't used a Bob. We usually have a stroller from the Baby Jogger City series and the shades are huge. It's been enough for my son. If it's similar to this I wouldn't worry about it unless his skin is particularly sensitive.

This is what I have always used and I love it. It sticks out much, much further than a regular stroller canopy and completely shields their legs. It will also provide some rain protection if it is just a really light rain and not a downpour.

It also helps greatly with naps, I loosen the back ties and pull it down to completely enclose the stroller and my kids nap much better this way cause they are laying back and not trying to look out at everything. I also use the side pockets to slip my phone in with a baby white noise machine app on to help block out sounds.

One thing to keep in mind whatever you choose- are you using Disney transportation? Cause if you are and you have a ton of stuff to take off the stroller before being able to fold it it will be a HUGE PITA! The shade I posted above can stay on the stroller while folding.

Yes, definitley using Disney transportation. That's something to keep in mind. Someone did tell me to bring an extra bag to dump all your stroller stuff into when you're packing up the stroller to get on the bus.

I think I might go check out the Summer Infant shade. It's got the added bonus of being available at my local BRU and I can test out the scenario before we leave.

Thanks!

The Summer Infant shade the OP talks about is one I used for both my kids when they were little. I loved it and it definitely kept them out of the sun so much more than just the hood of the stroller. Its lightweight and easy to stow away. With the Florida sun, I think its a good investment for a little one.
