Stroller Strategy

I am planning a trip to WDW, SeaWorld and DCL cruise in October and trying to decide whether or not to get my DS (almost 4) a stroller. He's outgrown the cheap umbrella stroller he has, and the other one is way too bulky for travel. (We are flying into Orlando.)

Should I just rent strollers everywhere I go, or should I buy one? Does anyone have recommendations on a lightweight stroller for a 38" 35 lb kid? Most of the strollers I have tried have his feet dragging on the ground or his head above the level of the seat.

There is no way I am doing the parks without a stroller of some kind. Last time I tried it, I ended up carrying him 25% of the time and wearing myself out!

I would suggest trying to find a stroller in the resale shops. There is a company, i believe its Pel Perego, that sells a heavy duty umbrella stroller that reclines and has a basket underneith. Problem is they are very expensive new and a waste of money for one trip. But if you could find one used, maybe on ebay that would be your best bet.Good Luck and have a great trip. Rich

If you have a babiesrus close by they have a stroller made by baby trend that has a weight limit of 45lbs. I believe it is called the eurotrend sport. It folds up umbrella style and weighs about 15 or 16 lbs I think. They cost around $60 but if you can get any toysrus coupons (they have coupons pretty often for $10 off strollers over $50---they are usually at the entrance of toyrus) most babiesrus will honor them.

rents strollers out of orlando. I haven't used them yet but am planning to in Jan for a high chair. They will pick up and deliver and the rates seem reasonable.
$45 for 4-7 days. Yeah you could buy a cheap one for that but you would have to get it to and from Orlando.
Just another option.
