When we go to disney in Nov, DDs will be ages 5 and 2.5. We went this past Nov (ages 4 and 1.5) and the 1.5 yr old wanted to walk everywhere! We had the double stroller, but this time, were thinking of taking just a single, and they could take turns riding, we could carry one of them if really necessary. Anyway, now I started to think, maybe we should rent a stroller? We're staying at the GF, so getting to and from the parks with them walking isnt really an issue. We'll still bring the single stroller either way, for when we go to DD and shopping, but how much time does it take each day to get/return the strollers?

We rented one day, and it literally took only a minute or two. But, it wasn't at park opening. We got there maybe around 11. I don't know what it is like first thing in the AM. Keep in mind if you park hop, you may not have one at the 2nd park, if they have run out.

I haven't been yet...we leave in 1 day!! But, I am going to get a double stroller for my 3 boys even though the 7 and 9 year old don't really "need" it. I figure it's a great place to store stuff and I know that they 7 y/o will get tired of walking at some point and want to rest. I would *much* rather have it than have cranky kids...or worse yet, 2 kids fighting over a seat! LOL

We just returned from WDW. We have a 6, 5 and 1 yr old. We brought a stroller for the baby but ended up renting another for the five year. He became tired and cranking with all the walking. We rented it in the middle of the day and there was no wait. Returning is easy, just drop it off.

The single stroller was $10 a day, but they knock it down to $8 if you rent for multiple days. We ended up getting a four day rental for $32. It was well worth it. :)

I say get the double stroller. For my son's fifth birthday trip we couldn't have done it without the stroller. The walking would have been too much, I would have worried about him wandering off if he wasn't in the stroller most of the time, we could get from point A to point B so much faster because we didn't have to prod him along, and the pocket on the stroller was nice to store stuff. Rental was quick and easy each time.

When you rent the stroller, pay up front for however many days you'll be there. It's cheaper and more importantly, it is much faster after the first day. You just present your prepaid ticket stubs and get your stroller. Dropping it off is even faster. Have Fun!

I second this!

Even though we don't use a stroller, and at times they are very overwhelming in the parks on busy days, I do think that they have to be a "plus" on a day at the parks - especially with more than one child. Being able to put a back pack or camera bag in one is a bonus as well. I hate schlepping stuff around the park and sometimes wish I had one just for my camera bag, etc. Being a single mom - I don't have extra adult hands to help with with the stuff, and DD won't carry a darned thing!

I had one experience last year when we had a day at MK planned with some out of town guests, and my DD hurt her foot. We did not miss the day, but it was apparent by the time we got to the main entrance from the monorail that she would not make it the entire day walking. My mother who was 81 at the time, and was having some health issues was with us as well, so we rented a wheelchair rather than a stroller - just in case. Well DD rode in the wheelchair a good bit of the day, and I realized when we got home that it had been an incredbily "relaxing" day - I did not have to worry about her keeping up, or getting to far ahead (she has a very high comfort level at the parks, since we spend so much time there). We treated it like a stroller though, and parked it like a stroller as she was able to and from the rides.

I don't know if you are flying, but I would think that the added aggravation of having to fly with a stroller would be worth the few extra dollars a day - but then again - I have only ever travelled with my DD as a single parent, so I don't know what it is like to have an extra set of hands!

check out abbf.com they rent everything you could possibly need. They deliver it and pick it up at the hotel. This way you have everywhere you go if needed. Also it will be a quality stroller, something you would buy yourself. NOt one of those hard plastic things you can get at the park. We used them last year for a toddler bed for our dd, and she loved it.

We've rented the side/side double stoller from abbf.com and our experience has been wonderful. The stroller you get is a Graco, and underneath each seat are storage areas, which you don't have with the rented strollers.
