Sorry to "beat a dead horse" but one more question about stroller rentals-- my 2 DD's are 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 -- the 4 year old doesn't go in a stroller anymore but I'm afraid she is going to tire out during the day and want a break and be pushed around for a while. She has outgrown our double stroller (a front/back style) so bringing that is not an option. I have checked into the website mentioned by several others on the board that rents/delivers strollers -- their side/side looks like a possible option. I have also read in the "Unofficial Guidebook" that MK and Epcot have replaced their old rental strollers with newer more comfortable/reclining ones -- is this true? Does anyone have any pics of the strollers?

We are staying at the YC and I am so undecided about what to do -- Please help!!

I'm just back. We rented from ABBF.com and had wonderful service, so if you're looking to rent, they are great.

The new strollers at disney are these weird egg-shaped plastic strollers. The child can sit or recline in it. If your kids get along well, it's ok as far as double strollers go - they sit together. There's no divider. I didn't think they looked comfortable since they are hard plastic, but I did see one family with the double-sized one and the kids were pushing the mom in it! Too funny!

I don't have a picture of these newer strollers, sorry, but maybe someone else has a recent shot?

Its a 50/50 call with kids the ages of yours, perhaps a sit n stand or buggy board would work better than a double if your 4yo is used to walking. My girls are also 2 years apart and we always used the park doubles as they are sturdy and easy to push. We never had problems out of the parks and DTD does rent strollers now. The kids never minded them and loved to play games and watch the fireworks from them. They can get pricy though so cost it out and consider a length of stay rental from an off-site agency. I beleive abbf has a sit n stand.

If you want more info including pictures hit "deb's site" at wdwig.com she has a great stroller faq section with lots of great information.

As a woman who has owned 8 strollers, let me give you a tip... it isn't the stroller... it is the wheels that matter!!!!!!

The strollers at Disney are very comfortable, though they do look like they are not. My DS never complained once, and even slept in it several times last visit.

The wheels are like the jog stroller wheels and it is very very easy to push.

We're going to rent 1 single and 1 double stroller...

While the wheels do matter, the plastic Disney strollers are like riding in barrels; loud and uncomfortable.

I agree with Baileymouse: www.ABBF.com has the best, cleanest, most comfortable strollers by far. And I like the fact that my money is being spent for the stroller to be with me the entire trip, not just while we are in the park. The fact that it is delivered to my hotel and waiting for me when we arrive cannot be beat.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for the advice everyone -- we still have a couple of weeks to go and are undecided...:(

Well, I looked at ABBF.com and that is totally NOT for me! if you have an infant or a toddler, then I'd go with that. But those strollers look too small for your 4.5 year old. I had the double pictured and I got rid of it 1.5 years ago, when my twins were 2.5 years old.

I should have clarified that the Disney strollers are geared for 2+ year old kids... my DS used it when he was 3 and never complained. If you are trying to put a small baby in them obviously it wouldn't work.

And I don't understand the "riding in a barrel" comment as I dont' recall any noise... but perhaps there was and I dont' remember-- well, if that's true then it shows it wasn't a big deal.

One comment I have for anyone thinking of renting a triple stroller.. DON"T DO IT!!! Triplet strollers are *impossibe* to maneuver. I owned the Jmason, pictured on ABBF.com and I got rid of it when the combined weight of my kids hit about 65 pounds. You couldn't roll it in a straight line without hitting a wall.
