I'm taking my 4 year old to WDW this coming summer and was told that it would be an EXCELLENT idea to rent a stroller. I don't have one for him at the moment but would be willing to spend about $20 or $30 on a good umbrella stroller. I have read the posts regarding purchase of strollers so I am keeping them in mind.
However, if I do rent a stroller, is it better to rent it for the full week we are there and what is the cost?

It's been a while since I rented a stroller but I think the fee is per day and if you park hop just show your receipt for another stroller on that same day.

If you decide to rent a stroller, I would highly recommend A Baby's Best Friend (www.abbf.com) in Orlando. They were a life saver for us as their equipment is so nice, clean, and much more comfortable than the park strollers. I was also able to use it when we went shopping and for walks in the area. They have a lot of nice things, and their website is great. Very nice people, too.

Read the FAQ section of the website. It has a lot of answers that I initially had questions to.

Hope this helps. :earsboy:

In my infinite trips in the '90s, we stayed offsite, almost every time. If staying onsite, and plan on using WDW buses, before you plan tocarry a stroller to the parks, imagine you and your kids standing on a crowded bus, and you also managing the crowded stroller. Also, you have to fold and carry for the monorails. this is why I always rented, even when driving. Just easier, and dd always managed to get a nap in

Although you don't have to pay again if you park hop, there may not be a stroller at the next park for you to use.

The strollers are expensive to rent, and look uncomfortable. I would look into a nice umbrella stroller at BRU. Make sure it has a sun shield. We have the Trendsport Lite, and it is great for the $$$ - $40.

Unless you buy a REALLY good umbrella stroller ($30 won't do it unless it's used) you'll be frustrated with comfort for your child and steering for you. Plus you have the hassle of carrying the stroller on WDW transportation.

I have a 4 year old and just went to WDW in December. We rented and had no trouble finding strollers. THe magic kingdom strollers steer much better than any normal umbrella stroller and are comfortable enough for 4yo.

They are expensive though budget $16 a day! Length of stay or multiple days saves a few dollars a day.

Good luck

We took an umbrella stroller I got for DD (5) at a garage sale for $3. We took it on the plane with no problems and will do it again next year. It is too much walking for a little kid. We folded it up for the bus without any problem. And it was nice not to have to search a sea of matching strollers to find ours!

Thanks so much for that info. I checked out their website and read the reviews. I think that I may go w/them if I do decide to rent. I'm checking to see if the strollers at WDW recline (in case of a sleepy 4 year old). Also, I had a question (re: weight restrictions) for Baby's Best Friend and they were helpful and prompt with answer. Thanks again.

Add us to the list of happy ABBF renters! We did not want to take a chance on the Park strollers (for so many of the reasons, some listed above) and we have been very satisfied with the items received form ABBF. All things are clean, and the strollers are top shelf, comfy for the little ones and they do recline. We recommend them without hesitation! Prompt and very professional. ::yes::
