Stroller rental size?

We're leaving in 10 days :cool1: and was thinking of doing the stroller rental for our stay. We figured we'd pretty much be at the parks most of the day, unless the kids really needed a break at the resort.

My question is the size of the double strollers. We will have DS7 and DD3 and was thinking of getting the double incase DS7 gets tired of walking. Is the stroller too small for him to ride? He just turned 7, is tall, but pretty slim. Has anyone put their older child in a double stroller w/a smaller child? Or, would you rent a single and for the times when the older may just want a break and ride, carry the younger?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!!

The strollers are nice and big, you won't have any problem. We've rented in Epcot when our kids were even older, just to save their energy and make maneuvering around World Showcase easier, and they work great. Now that we don't need one anymore, I'm going to miss having a place to store our stuff!

How are the strollers on babies? Can an 8 month old nap in one? I see they are hard plastic looking, I wasn't sure if I needed to suck it up and lug my own big double stroller with us. I also read somewhere they have stroller length/width requirements? Mine isn't a side by side stroller, it's more longer then wide. I wonder if it would be a problem.

I think the last we used one our kids were 3, 5, and 8. Either the 8 yo or the 5 yo would sit crosslegged in the front. When they went on a ride I didn't care for, I sat on the front with my feet on the ground. It'll be fine.

As far as the baby, I think we took the umbrella stroller at that age. I'm having troule remembreing. LOL. There's NO padding or really much of a strap to hold them up.

My son is 11 and he still rides when he gets tired once or twice a day:goodvibes
He is 80 something pounds and it still feels like you're pushing nothing:)
Even if I had only one child I would get a double...one seat for my kid and one for my big ole backpack:rotfl:

Thanks for the replies :goodvibes I think we'll go w/the double stroller. It would be nice for the 7 y/o to be able to sit now and again and have a break from all the walking. I just wasn't sure if he'd fit in one or not & didn't want him to be crammed in a little seat :)

Actually they are pretty roomy. My 11 year old is very tall for his age, he comes up to my nose and I am 5'8!!!!!
He is really slim but still he had no problem in the stroller.
He really wants to just sit sometimes like I said above once or twice a day. You walk anywhere from 5-15 miles a day in a park!!!
I would def. go with the double:)

BTW, do you know if you rent the stroller for the length of your stay, ours will be 5 days, you will save a couple of bucks a day and beat some of the lines since it will be paid for?!?

I do remember reading that somewhere. We will be at the parks for 5 days also, so I figure I may save approx $10?? I think it was a $2 discount per day???

But the best thing was having your tickets already so you can bypass the stroller lines and just go up to the stroller podium and show them your ticket;)

He should be fine- my ds6 is very tall and fits fine with dd2 if they they need to share. As for the person who asked about the baby napping - I have never used it, but I seem to recall someone who was using a baby insert from the stroller rental at the park. I've always brought my own for the little ones since my kids sleep in the stroller and i didn't want to tempt fate with them not sleeping in the disney one.
