Stroller Rental Question...

Not doubting you either....

That's VERY cool! I didn't realize they did that. I guess I was thinking more in terms of riding Peter Pan, leaving the stroller and then getting a another one at say, Space Mountain for example. It makes total sense that they'd do that when riding the train. I haven't ridden that train in years, and when I did, I always brought my own stroller on the train with me. What fun THAT was. :rotfl:

Good Mornning. I knew what you meant...can't get a new stroller at Peter Pan or at most rides... I was just sharing that I thought at maybe 2 rides you actually did get to pick up a different stroller when you got off.

I know what you mean about strollers on the train! I'm not a renter either. Luckily mine was always a lightweight umbrella stroller. ;)

I will confirm that as well!

If you rent a stroller, and ride the train at AK, you would pick up a different stroller at the next station you stop at. We did that at MK - wanted DGreatNephew to ride the train the first thing, so we paid for stroller at the main gate, then rode the train to Toon Town, and picked up one there. They have the "empty stroller parking" to the right of the train stop if you are looking at it.

We had gotten a lengthy of stay (4 days) as we did not know how DGreatNephew would handle all the walking - we used it at MK the first day, and at MGM, but after that it was just too busy, and he had more fun hopping and skipping around! Fortunately my Dsis got a kind CM who refunded our unused days, as our receipt had not been stamped!

I see why people want their own, for the trip to the bus or trams, but I always feel so bad when they are rushing to get the family, the stroller and whatever extra stuff they collected during the day on the tram (I don't use the buses) at the end of the night when the trams are crowded. I saw one dad drop the popcorn, the diaper bag, and the babies blanket before he was totally situated!

If I rent a double stroller for length of stay, would they give me two single strollers if they were all out of doubles? If yes, would this also hold true for AK where, I believe, they only have singles?

They have double strolles at AK.

Now that my DD is 6, we're at the in between stage. Do we bring the stroller and lug it all over WDW while DD walks, or do we leave it home and just rent one if the need arises?! The last few times, we left it home and of course, all she did was moan and groan that she was tired, so we rented one. It's funny though, the times you need it most (on line to get the bus, on the way to your room after departing the bus) you don't have it if you rent one. I love having the room in my trunk without the stroller but I think next time, we may just take the darn thing, I love having a place to stow my bags. :teeth: Now, if it was me, I'd ride in it all day long. What a sight that would be. :lmao:

Too funny! When my mother was visiting in Nov/Dec we did a full day at EPCOT, my mother is 81, and has new replacement surgery. She was more than willing to do the walking, but sometimes feels unsteady on her feet when trying to walk quickly,in crowds or getting tired, so we rented a wheelchair just in case. She used it more as a "walker" than a chair - that being said DD thought that since Nana was pushing the chair anyway, and we had paid for it SHE might as well go for the "ride"! We got some very funny looks when people saw the elderly woman (I hate calling my mother that as she does not act elderly, and is in MS right now helping to rebuild a house...) pushing the kid in the chair.

(Please note that we did not use this chair to get a special place in any queues, etc!)

Thank you all for your input. Does anyone else have any stroller rental experiences that they can share? My children will be 7, 4, and 2 when we go this summer and we are thinking of renting just a double. Last summer we brought a double and a single from home and it was a little cumbersome, especially dealing with air travel.

Also, I'm still a little concerned that I will not be able to pick up the stroller before our 8:00 ADR's. It would be a real inconvenience to have to return to the main gate after our meal.

Just checking to make sure that the length of stay stroller rentals are still available - and I'm wondering what the cost is, too!

thanks so much :)
