Stroller Rental in Anaheim

Hi! We're planning our family's first trip to Disneyland in January 2011. We visited WDW last Sept. & I got all kinds of great tips from the boards. I was wondering if there is anything like Orlando Stroller Rentals in the Anaheim or SoCal area? I really liked that we had it to take back to the hotel, etc. I also liked that OSR delivered to our hotel too. I'm hoping there's something similar available in Anaheim. TIA!

LOL I don't rent strollers, either. I actually haul mine around - I have a favorite Maclaren-style one that has been very good to me!

How old are your kids? You can buy a cheap umbrella stroller for like $10 if they are older. I lug my huge double everywhere, airlines normally check strollers and car seats for free so I don't see any reason not to take my own.

My boys are 2 & 5. We had a sit & stand that worked well for us until the wheel broke off about 3 months ago! Now, we're back to using a single Graco - the 5 yo doesn't need a stroller for the most part, but I know a Disney vacation can be tiring for younger ones & it makes for a much more enjoyable trip for all (me & DH included) if we can give him a place to rest too. The 2 year old definitely still needs one as he will still nap in the afternoon & generally can sleep anywhere! That's why I'm not really keen on a cheapo umbrella stroller as those typically don't recline for the times when he'll nap in the stroller. We don't really have many instances anymore where we need a stroller for both of them around home so that's why renting works better for us for the times when we do - like on vacation. I loved the City Mini Double that Shannon @ Orlando Stroller Rental had available - it was perfect for us. I'll have to check out the website the PP recommended. Thanks!

I agree with buying a used stroller at home and hauling it with you - check Craigslist - you will probably spend less than renting - you can throw your stuff on it as you go through the airport and check it for free at the gate - as you get off the plane there it will be to throw your stuff on it!

If you really don't need it after the park you can always leave it behind with someone - or ask the hotel to donate it for you.

We've done a bit of everything. Once brought a "good" stroller and a cheapie umbrella and gave the umbrella to a family at the end of our trip. Once we rented a double from Orlando Stroller Rentals (WDW). Once we rented a double from the parks (again, only available at WDW). All in all, I liked using Orlando Stroller Rental the best, but this is not an option at DLR. My kids are a bit old to need a stroller in the airport, so I liked not having the hassle of pushing it through the airport, loading it in a rental car etc... This time we're bringing only one stroller and hoping for the best. I know that I could pick one up at Target instead of bringing one, but I don't want to use my precious time in that way, although this may work for others who have access to a car.

Likewise we've used them for a stroller, full size crib and a Britax car seat rental. Prompt service and nice people to work with.

Just wanted to add an update. I just placed an order for a stroller rental through http://www.citystrollerrentals.com It was quick and they deliver to your anaheim area hotel for free. I saw that they had the city mini strollers, but we ordered a Britax because we need a larger one for DD5. We don't own a stroller at home anymore but still like to have one for Disney trips with all the walking and parkhopping we do..plus..ever carry a 45 lb. sleeping child back to the hotel at night? This will be my first time renting from them so I will report back after the trip!! Cost is $60 for 4-7 nights. Not bad!!

Good to know! I'm thinking of using them, too. We rarely use a stroller at home but youngest is 2 so we'll need one at DL. Loved the City Mini I rented at WDW.

We are driving, but will have very little room in the car-5 people, including a teenager, in our little Mazda 5, so no room for a stroller. I figure the improved mpg from the minivan we just sold will more than pay the cost of the stroller rental.

This is the first time that we're going without our BOB duallie. I can't say enough good things about how easy it is to push 100lbs of kid in that stroller with it feeling heavy at all. it is big, but turns on a dime with just two fingers to steer.

if you're renting, i'd highly recommend it!

I just sold our duallie and replaced it with a single BOB that i bought new at an REI sale simply for the purpose of going to theme parks. I worked out rental prices for three days in SD this summer plus four days at DLR in October, and it was cheaper to buy this one new and resell it on Craigslist. BOB strollers hold their value amazingly well.

I think that the Phil and Ted is also another stroller with great resale value.

We rented through our hotel (PPH) because when packing the car at Christmas it became clear that our stroller would NEVER fit in the car. LOL I'm pretty sure they used travelbee, but I can't find the paperwork now. It was so nice to have it to take back to the hotel, and it was a nice stroller, too.

I just looked at the travelbabee site, and it said "this location closed until June 28". It was about $78 to rent through them and $65 through citystrollers; went with the latter since I know I love that City Mini stroller already.

I spoke to the owner (Jewel) on the phone and she says they will have the stroller at the front desk of the hotel when I check in and can leave it with them after I check out since I will leave early in the morning. I don't recall seeing the BOB strollers on their site. I figure it is worth a try!

I was going to recommend citystrollerrentals.com too. I saw their website a few weeks ago, and they are definitely going to be the company I use in November!

We rented a double from Jewel at City. Amazing service and great product. We paid $100 for 7 days ($75 rental, $25 insurance), it was delivered to our hotel the day before our arrival and picked up after we left. My boys loved the ride, we loved it for ease of use (so busy, much easier to keep track of kids) and we had people stopping us to ask where we got it from all the time. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.
