Hi, I am across the water in the UK but am looking for a stroller for my trip to WDW in August. DD will be almost 5, but due to a muscle problem is not as active as other kids her age and gets tired more easily.

I have a stroller at home that is suitable for upto age 4 but am finding this is getting harder to manouvere now that she is getting heavier so am looking to possibly buy a new one for WDW.

Any suggestions for strollers suitable for larger kids but that won't break the bank and are easily available in Orlando - Walmart, Target etc. I could also possibly arrange for delivery to resort so online would be an option.

The only suggestion I have at the moment is a Maclaren Volo - could get this in UK but for some reason UK specification shows much lower max weight than US version :confused3

I used a Mac Volo for my 6 yo ds. He has some heart issues and tires easily. It is very light weight to carry and easy to push. He is about 45 lbs and I think the weight limit is 55 lbs. They do have them at Target for $99(i think). It is a great stroller and I highly recommend it for an older child. You won't be disappointed.:)

Maybe try the Maclaren Techno XLR as it goes up to 65 lbs. http://www.maclarenbaby.com/us/content/view/162/88888908 I am not sure of the price but something to look into.

I have Combi Urban singles for our trip in a few days. My DD, age 2, is a little chunky and the size of a 3-3.5 year old. Our Combi double and single strollers will hold a child up to 55 lbs and are very easy to handle, lightweight (double is 21 lbs, single is 10 lbs), and do a compact tri-fold that takes up hardly any space.

If possible order from a US company and have it shipped to the resort. It work out much cheaper for me.

I ordered the Prego P3 for my 4.5yr old niece at www.albeebaby.com

Thanks for the suggestions - the Combi Urban looks good and sems to be cheaper than the Mac Volo - I will keep this in mind.

Any more suggestions?

We order a Joovy Groove - it has a wider seat then the Maclaren Volo, Triumph etc. My daughter is 40lbs and 41 inches tall. In most strollers I found she looked cramped.

It has a large hood and lovely colours :) I read nothing negative about it and it is not supposed to as tippy as the Maclarens.

We ordered it directly to the hotel and get it when we get there next week.

I can let you know what I think of it next week if that helps!

Good Luck! :wave2:

Id have to say a Mac for an older child. I used a Volo for my dd at 6 and 7 years old for our Disney trips. You couldnt even tell that she was in the stroller. The handles are high so you arent bending over. The weight limit is 55 pounds, but Id say higher since we had our 7 yr old in it plus lots of bags on the handles and stuff in the basket. We love the macs- got a quest for our newest dd 16mos!
