Stroller questions and DHS

Even though my 6 year old doesn't use a stroller regularly now, I am bringing an umbrella stroller to Disney (and I bet my 9 year old will try and get in it at some point, although he is sadly mistaken!) or maybe renting one if we decide not to drag one through the airport.

My question is this.....should I skip the stroller at Hollywood Studios? We have never been there and from what we are planning there will be a lot of shows and sitting down. My son is pretty active, so I am thinking we will only really need it at MK and Epcot when the day will be longer and the walking will be many miles.

On our last trip (DD7 and DD4), our first full day was at DHS. We went from opening to close. DD4 didn't sit in the stroller one time. I had to bribe her to sit in it on the way out of the parks because of the crowds. I think since we were early on in the trip, we were all still full of energy. I don't think we could have managed a full day like that without a stroller later in the week. DD7 was the energize bunny all week. It really will depend on your son's stamina. Also, disclaimer, we walked every day after dinner for over 2 months, anywhere from 2-3 miles, prior to our August trip which is where their stamina came from.)

If your DS6 is pretty active you shouldn't need it. But you could always take it and park it in a stroller bay and just leave it there until (or if) you need it. If you go to TSMM as your first ride there is a stroller bay right there. It probably depends on where DHS is in your schedule, if it's first day then he will be fine but if it's after a day to Epcot or MK his legs maybe very tired.

Our DS is super active but we found when he was 5 after a week of Disney we needed the stroller to help him last the day. The stroller is also useful for carrying stuff.

This trip we are stroller free as he is now 8 and I have to say it is so much better without the stroller, so much easier to get around and so much easier not having to park stroller before each ride. You might enjoy not having it at DHS.
