What does anyone think about bringing stroller just for purpose of not having to carry things around (sort of like a portable locker)? My kids are too old for stroller now (they are 6 & 7 and are big for their age), but I was thinking of taking a stroller so that I wouldn't have to carry a backpack and would be able to store sweatshirt or jackets (going in November) and wouldn't have to worry about going all the way to a locker to retrieve items. Is this a crazy idea?

It is so much easier to walk around the park without a stroller that I would vote against taking one. You have to park it, retrieve it after the attraction, maneuver it around people, etc. I would say get a locker for your jackets since you really would only have to retrieve them one time (after it cools down) and carry any necessities in a small backpack. I think you will have a much better time without a stroller. Whatever you decide, have a great time!!!

My daughter is 7 and last year I started her carrying a small backpage for her stuff, a water bottle (make sure cap is on tight because we did have one leak) her autograph book, pen and sweatshirt or whatever. She has a small Disney Princess backpack and it's not heavy. When she did get tired of it, it was nothing to throw it over my shoulder a bit, although she pretty much carried it herself.

In our family, everyone carries their own stuff. We drape the poncho over the belt or fanny pack strap. If you don't wear the sweatshirt, tie it around your waist.

No one gets stuck lugging stuff that belongs to anyone else, except in an emergency. I might hold stuff while my guys are on a ride that I don't choose to ride, but they get them back from me when they get off. And I'm usually sitting some place waiting for them.

As someone who has pushed a stroller around the parks, I think you will be happier NOT doing that.

Have fun.

Last time we were at WDW our youngest kids were 4 and 6 and it really helps to have the stroller even though they dont always use it. I always LOVE having a place to stash our jackets or packages and place my backpack on while we walk etc.

I never find pushing a stroller a problem but thats just me!

I think the biggest hassle with a stroller is hauling it on and off the buses. We found during our last trip that renting the strollers at each park was SOOOO worth it. Mind you, we had 4 families -- 2 of the moms refused to ride rides, so most of the time we had someone watching the strollers. During the rides where everyone rode, we took our valuables with us and left our other stuff...never had a problem with people messing with our belongings or taking the strollers. We plan to do it again next year when we return.
