Stroller question

I have read a few post recently about people having their strollers stolen at Disneyland.

My daughters will be 2 & 3 during our trip so i know that I FOR SURE have to have a stroller and im not all that worried about it getting stolen because im sure out of all the stollers the odds are pretty slim. What im questions is leaving stuff in the stroller and how safe that is.

I had orginally thought i would just load the bottom of the stroller with everything the girls would need for a day in the park: jackets, blankets, diapers, wipes, snacks, extra clothes etc. Carrying a backpack all day is something that does not appeal to me at all so i would like to avoid that all cost. I will take a very small cross over purse that will hold phones, id, money and park tickets.

Do you leave stuff in your stroller? If so what kinds of things? Have you ever had any problems?

We left the diaper bag, snacks, sweatshirts, and some other random stuff in our stroller and it was fine. That being said, we did take everything of value (cameras, purses, wallets, irreplaceable-stuffed toys, etc.) with us when we left the stroller. Basically we only left stuff that while we would be upset if the items were stolen, it wouldn't have been very difficult/expensive to replace.

Hi! When we used to bring a stroller I would store everything in it (although like Figment said nothing of value). No one bothered it. I do see people leaving souvenirs and such in bags in their strollers, but that spells trouble for me. If you plan to buy souvenirs I would carry a small backpack to put those in, as I have heard of those types of things getting stolen in the past.

This, exactly...

We never leave valuables in the strollers but we do leave everything else.
This may sound bizarre, but if I were going today, knowing that there are thieves in the park, I would take a clean diaper, wrap it up like it was a used one, and lay it on top of my stuff. If someone wants to go past the diaper to get my cheap stuff, they can have it.

We've been to DL/DCA the past 2 years with strollers, and never really have problems. However we made a mistake of leaving our almost completed Easter Egg Hunt map in the stroller and rode the King Arthur's Carousel, and came back to see that the map's gone. We don't know if someone took it, or the wind blew it away.

As long as you take your valuables with you, everything should be fine.
An extra tip, tag your stroller with your name and phone number for extra identification.

We have always left things of little to no value in the stroller. Anything I'd be upset about losing we take with us in the backpack. When I pack for our trips I specifically take our non disney sweatshirts. I figure if I leave them in the stroller they're less likely to become someones souvenir that way.

Yes, this is us too. We never had any issues.

Doesn't everything become difficult to replace when you're on vacation? I mean, if I lose the diaper bag, I'm going to have to go to Target to replace it and it's contents. I mean, we're talking at least two hours and at least $50 (new bag, changing kit, medicines, snack holders, clothes, etc). Quite frankly, I'd rather someone stole the new $25 souvenir I just bought my child. It would be a lot easier and more convenient to replace it. Same thing with sweatshirts/jackets. I may have lost a $10 sweatshirt, but it may cost me $40 to replace it at the park. Even our refillable filter water bottles (which I often leave in the stroller) run $10 each.

I'm kind of in the same boat as Star Shine...if I lost something out of my diaper bag, or my diaper bag itself, what a HUGE pain! Not the best solution but we will be carrying a backpack with us and leaving essentially nothing in our stroller. (My son is 3). It's not that hard to take it on rides, and it's just easier in my opinion then worrying every time I leave something if it will get stolen. To each their own, but this is our plan!

Luckily my girls are 2 and 3, i dont plan on brings a daiper bag and all its contents. Its much easier and less to worry about it i just through wipes, a couple diapers, and whatever else in a gallon zip loc and put it in the bottom of the stroller.

We leave only jackets and water bottles. I would bring the diaper bag with you. We got stuck in it's a small world for an hour and a half. Baby pooed fifteen minutes in. Can you imagine what that would have been like if we didnt have diapers?

Important to note that if you have to ride the tram from the parking structure, you will likely need to fold your stroller (with the exception of a couple of rows). So having a practical way to carry everything is smart. I leave sealed water bottles, blankets, and jackets. Everything else we carry with us.

Our last trip a couple years ago we took valuables with us and left jackets, diapers, wipes those things in a cinch backpack. We also left a foldable cooler with juice and a bag of snacks. Nothing irreplaceable was ever left on the stroller. This time around, since both kids are older, I'll probably bring a regular backpack to carry a change of clothes for DS (he's 4, completely potty trained but just in case), valuables and room for some souvenirs if needed. Last time we were naive and left souveneirs on the stroller. THis time, we won't be doing so.
Also, we don't bring nice strollers. Last time we brought a very used double stroller. this time will be a inexpensive light weight. There will likely be way better strollers there to steal if someone is so inclined :) Though I really wish things like this didn't happen at DL of all places. Makes me sad
