Stroller Question

Just an additional note about strollers in DL. If you have a "common" stroller or plan on renting one, make a cool "tag" for it to wear. Things can get crazy coming out of a ride and your stroller might have been moved by CMs. So, to help you locate it in the sea of stollers (who here has seen the Nemo area? :) ) make it stand out. This also helps keep others from accidentally grabbing your stroller thinking it is theirs. We like to tie ribbons and put a luggage tag on ours. Of course, you don't want anything too special on it, I have heard about people having mickey ears and balloons stolen off their strollers.

Again, with kids your age and with you staying off site, I think the sit n stand will be great to get them both back to the hotel after a full day at the parks. We used ours and it was a lifesaver since even our 5.5 yr old was a little tired and fussy at the end of the day. Plus you can move much faster not waiting up for those little legs. :)

Those strollers are nicer than the WDW ones! It looks like they have a shade. Thanks for making me aware that DL doesn't have double strollers. I just assumed WDW & DL had the same strollers.

My first trip to DL w kids, our older girls were 4 and 5. We did not use a stroller, and at midnight the girls were still going strong. So, years later, I good naturedly mocked a friend of mine for getting a stoller for his 6 year old daughter.

Back again last February, we packed a stroller for our 6 year old (despite my prior mockings) and our oldest daughter packed a stroller for our 1 year old grand daughter.

Turned out, grand daughter was held more often then not, and strollers were utilized by our 6 year old AND our 8 year old. -ya, I will try not to mock again. And I will advocate for strollers to anyone who asks. (Even when not in use by children, they make excellent storage)

Now, double strollers that are side by side are easier to manuver then the ones that are front to back, but are much harder to get thru the bottle neck areas.

Every trip to WDW so far we have used a stroller (with kids.) Mine are now 10 and almost 7 years old. We were always glad we brought it. We stopped bringing one for the oldest when she was 7 I think.

A few weeks ago we went to NYC and did not bring one for the 6 year old. DH ended up carrying her a lot. I still think it was best because a stroller is such a pain with the subway and taxis. The walking was really hard on her, and poor DH carrying her so much.

DD will turn 7 on our 1st DL trip in Aug. She is very small or her age, smaller then most 4 or 5 year olds. I wasn't going to bring one (umbrella, small) but now am reconsidering. She has not problem using them, and would prefer it. She grabs a free ride when ever she can get it.

I am assuming that there is less walking at DL then WDW. We are staying at DL hotel.

I am taking a sit n stand for a 5 yo and 2 yo. I cannot imagine doinga theme park without one even at age 5.

There have been lots of threads on this topic, and basically there is always an overwhelming vote in favor of taking it, and leaving it at the hotel if it turns out you don't need it. They are $15 per day to rent a single. They don't appear to have doubles any more. I think you can get two singles for $25 per day.

The first time we went DS was 5 and DD was 3. They both wanted to ist in the stroller by the 2nd day. We ended up renting one from Disney, it is not big enough for two kids. They had to take turns and it was pretty frustrating! I would bring it along, and if you dont end up using it, you can leave it at the hotel.

If anyone is taking a stoller and leaving it behind, I would love to take it off your hands. We have 4,7,9 year olds. The 4 yo could use one for when he gets tired. Planning on renting from Disney, but would take a stoller if anyone is planning to leave it.
