We are heading down Jan 19-23 with a 3 year old and 7 month old. We are only planning on doing one park (MK on Wed). I am planning on bringing our Graco stroller for the 7 month old since it will fully recline. I am on the fence about a stroller for the 3 year old. Should I bring an umbrella stroller for him? We also have a double sit-and-stand type stroller but its huge and I can't imagine lugging it on and off the bus! Advice?

We are going with a nearly 4 year old and 2 year old twins -- we are bringing BOTH a single and our double stroller. DS will ride in the stroller when we want to travel any kind of distance so he will have the energy to make it through the days -- and even then he'll be EXHAUSTED -- and he's a very active child normally. Don't forget, being outside draws energy all by itself -- you'll be walking MILES in these parks. A cranky 3 year old needing a stroller is not something fun to have on vacation.

And, if you end up not using it much, you can always use it for carrying things! LOL

I've been debating the 1 or 2 stroller issue, too. I have a 4yr old and a 2yr old, so I'm planning that they will both need a stroller. We own 2 single strollers. I'm thinking of buying a sit-and-stand stroller to use because if we do the baby swap and I'm waiting with the kids, I won't be able to push the two strollers - And vice versa for DH. I was thinking it might be easier to have the one sit-and-stand. Any thoughts?

Will you be staying together most or all of the time?

If you want to split up as the older one wants to do ___________ and the younger one is having a nap or playing in a splash area, would you rather have two seperate strollers?

I think two strollers is easier, but that's me. I guess it depends on your plans. I managed moving two strollers at one time from the entrance of RnRC to the exit, so it can be done.

My niece who was almost 5, slept in her P3 so I would look at getting a decent stroller.

Yep 2 strollers is easier to navigate through the parks, and if you don't need a stroller for the older child you can leave it. For example, touring in the morning-one stroller, afternoon break, touring in the evening- two strollers. My husband could also put the umbrella stroller in the basket of the P3 sticking up between the handles, with out it being a big pain, so I could push one, with one walking with me, while he rode something with our oldest.

I would never not take a stroller for a 3 yo. No way.

My son is going to be 5 on our trip. Our plans are to bring two strollers and go get the 2nd one from the car if we need it. I will have a Baby Jogger single at all times with an Jeep umbrella for backup. I'll put the 5 year old in the jogger and my 2 year old in the umbrella b/c my oldest looks ridiculous in that umbrella stroller. LOL.

I have a 2 yr old and 4 yr old. In September we had 2 strollers and it worked ok, but there were definitely issues with trying to fold two strollers to take on the bus, while sometimes holding a sleepy or very tired kid, etc. It was also hard to navigate them when one parent was on a ride. It was doable, but hard.

BUT you definitely need some sort of stroller for you 3 year old. Trust me, it is misery without it when they get tired and you have a mile to walk to the park exit, etc.

We've gone to wdw 4 times thus far, with twins, since they were 2 1/2 years old. They will be 5 on this next trip, and we're still taking our 2 umbrella strollers with us. It's a lot of walking, so it's good to have the strollers when you need them. We always found 2 strollers was easier, so each parent can be responsible for 1 child & 1 stroller. If the kids are tired, I'll usually tend to them both, while dh folds the strollers (umbrella strollers are so easy to fold that it only takes a few seconds and he's done). Also, it's much easier to get around when the crowds get thicker, and much easier to push around aisles if you go into the shops.

I think whichever you go with, singles or a double, make sure you have something for both kids. Too much walking IMO

We use the baby trend sit & stand stroller & also take an ergo carrier. It works perfect!

I have a DD5 and a DS2 and im taking my instep2 safari TT jogger. Yes it is big and bulky, but you can get it on and off the bus easier if you ask the driver to let you in through the back of the bus. Another plus is only one parent has to push giving the other a break, and if the 3 yr old is walking, you can put stuff in that side of the stroller....We always have a small cooler or backpack in the seat of my 5 yr old and she just sets on it when she rides.

I would def. take a double stroller with reclining seats for sleeping . We have been going the past three years starting when DS was 2 and DD was 7months old and we have always had a stroller seat for each kid , last year we had two strollers a double and a single , seeing as we have three kids now DS5,DD3 and DS2 and we will be taking two strollers in 2009 again for our trip. Having a reclining seats in the stroller is a must for us though as our children end up napping sometime during the day and for them to nap in a straight up umbrella stroller would be very uncomfortable and a sit & stand would not work due to the fact that sometimes we have two asleep at once .Just some things to think about when making your purchase of a new stroller if that's what you decide to do . princess:

On our first trip with 2 kids (2.5 yo DD, 6 month old DS), we were hesitant to take the double stroller (Graco front-to-back) since we had seen parents struggle with the big doubles on the buses before (when we just had our daughter).

We found it easier to use 2 lightweight strollers that are like umbrellas but have more features. We got Britax ESprit strollers (don't think they make them any more) on clearance 2 years ago and love them. They fold like umbrellas, have a decent sized basket, recline fairly far back, and are easily maneuverable. We also purchased stroller connectors so that 1 person could push both strollers easily if the other parent needed to be off somewhere else.

We have made 3 trips using the 2 strollers, and we are going back in February and using them again. DD will be 5 in March and DS 3 in April and definitely wouldn't attempt Disney without the strollers.

I am jumping on here...need some advice
I will have DD1 who is 5 years 10months and DD2 who will be 14 months. I would like to get by with 1 stroller except maybe at Epcot and could rent a double? DD1 has already asked if she will be able to go in the stroller (since now we have DD2 - she wasn't too happy when we said she didn't need a stroller at disney).
Has anyone pushed kids in a double with this age difference. I am worried that DD1 will crush DD2 in a disney stroller and that a side by side double will push lopsided. We have a Mac Triumph and PP Aria and Bugaboo (but not taking Bug) but I think the weight limt is 40 and DD1 is over 50lbs. Advice? 1 or 2 strollers? single or double? Bring or rent and type?
TIA!
Michelle
