When we go DD will be 4 and DS will be 2 1/2. I KNOW they will not be able to walk the park all day and I don't want to carry them. They're between 32 and 35 lbs.

So, do I bring 2 small collapsible umbrella strollers or use our ergos? I don't want to rent strollers each day partly the cost and partly the line for drop off at end of the day and we will be bringing the strollers for the airport portion of our trip.

Is it easier to have them jump in and out of the ergo(and ds might nap up there as well ~better view for parades etc) or a cheapo stroller to scoot around at drop and pick up at the various rides?

Please, veteran DW moms, what's smartest?

I would bring both!

We were there last December (2007) when dd was 6.5yo and ds was 2yo and brought one stroller and a Beco.

Ds hung in the stroller most times and dd walked but when ds needed to nap we popped him in the Beco and dd hopped in the stroller.

I definitely think w/ a 4 and 2.5yo you will need both strollers and it will be nothing to toss the Becos underneath for napping.

I'm bringing both. I have an older child though who might need the stroller and then I can put my 2 year old in the Ergo. But I know that I can NO WAY carry her in the Ergo all day so I think for you, a stroller is necessary.

I don't see any reason why you can't have both handy. And a great thing about strollers is that you can use them to help carry things (other than your kids).

We'll definitely be bringing both for our 15 month old when we go down. I definitely want the stroller (& like previous poster mentioned it'll be great for carrying other things - ponchos or a jacket, etc) And I think the carrier will come in handy while waiting in line, or if she gets tired of being in the stroller. :)

I agree, take both!!! I'd take both umbrella strollers with you and you can see if you need both. If you don't, leave one at the hotel. We went when ds was 20 mos and he spent abou 70% of his time in the Beco. But, I was glad to have the stroller for when we needed it. When we went right after he turned 2 he spent much more time in the stroller.

I would want a stroller for your 4 year old full time. No way I could have carried my 4 year old in the Beco for the entire trip.

I usually take the ergo & stroller. We bought a Sit-N-Stand (by baby trend I think) just for our trips to Disney. It folds up fairly small & is pretty easy to get on all the WDW transportation. It has a regular stroller seat in front that partially reclines and a little bench seat in the back where the older child can either sit or stand. When DD3 gets tired & wants in the front, I usually put DD1 in the ergo. I also use the ergo if we're going to be parking the stroller in 1 place & walking around a while. HTH!

I didn't vote because I said both too! It will be great to have the carrier for long lines, but the stroller for when you have too much stuff ;)

We always bring both the Ergo and the stroller for youngest DD who is now 2 1/2. I use the Ergo while in the airport and the stroller during the day at WDW. I bring the Ergo with me each day because we usually split up at night...me and DD2 go off in one direction while DH and DD9 go off in another. Therefore, I end up with the toddler, the stroller, and whatever bag we used that day. LOL So when we are leaving the park, I put her in the Ergo (where she falls asleep if not already), and fold up the stroller while waiting for the bus. Makes everything much easier because my hands are free and she is more secure and easier to carry when passed out. LOL

Thanks to everyone that replied! I'm going to bring both~I see the pros to having both options :thumbsup2

One more question. Should I bring 2 separate umbrella strollers or a double like this:

(crap, I can't post a link yet, since I don't have 10 posts....I'll be back.

basically pros ~each child can recline independently, and sitting side by side they can each see the same.

cons: it's wider for going through crowds. is this a problem?

So, 2 individual strollers or one side by side.

And lastly do people steal strollers ~can you tell this is all new to me

Thanks for your answers and your patience with this newbie!
