Stroller naps

I’m really excited to just see what he thinks of it all. He started walking about a month ago so it’ll be fun to let him kind of lead us around for a bit and see what he’s most interested in. Our must do rides are the carousel, dumbo, and the tea cups. Anything else is a bonus

you should add small world to that list. It’s amazing how kids are amazed by that ride. That was the first ride my DD really reacted to and was clapping and dancing in the boat. She also loved carousel, dumbo, and tea cups at that age. We did multiple rides on dumbo back to back cause she loved it so much. Carousel gets long waits cause it’s slow to load (by long I mean like 20-40 minutes) so if you do that one earlier it will probably make the line not so long. Oh Winnie the Pooh is a fun one too!

We weren’t sure if he’d sit through small world because it’s so long. I could see him crying and getting restless. We do plan to do the carousel first thing

This is probably really stupid to ask and very dependent on the child but I wanted to ask anyway. Is there any trick to getting a baby/toddler to sleep in the stroller at the park? I’m full on expecting to go back to the resort for naps but it would be so nice to be able to stay. He’ll be 12 months when we go in May and has never slept in a stroller before. Do you just have to have “that” kid or is there anything we can do to help him? We plan to bring his pacifier and portable white noise machine but I have a feeling there’s no chance he’ll sleep in the park.
For my first 2; they had no issues falling asleep in the stroller whenever they were tired. When my 3rd was 1 it was pretty hard for her to fall asleep. She loves blankets though so the next year my mom made a really thin (basically just a sheet) small blanket that I packed in my park bag each day (rolls up pretty small)...it wasthe best thing ever...yrs later and she basically nsps on demand in the stroller...it's like as soon as she has it, she knows it's time to nap and she does no problem.

I also found just slowly walking them around would usually have them out pretty quick.

Did yours get pretty fussy and overtired before falling asleep? I’m worried about running him ragged and making things miserable for all of us. I feel like he’ll have too much to look at and won’t want to sleep

Before we brought the blanket...yes she would get really fussy because she needed to sleep.

I've been to Disney a few times with a baby around that age (13 months, 15 months), and also at ages 2+.

We stayed at Grand Californian (as close as you can get to DL) of course and were hoping to go back to take breaks for naps a lot but the reality was that the baby would fall asleep on his own in the stroller before we got back, or we'd get back to the hotel room and baby wouldn't nap because it's an unfamiliar hotel room or whatever. So after a few attempts at room naps that trip, we have done mostly stroller naps on every other trip since no matter how close we were to the park.

Schedules go out the window imo. Just be watchful for sleep cues. At home my kids need dark rooms, white noise, etc. but at Disney they will definitely fall asleep in the stroller.

I've gone to quieter areas of the park and reclined the stroller and pulled the shade down, while pushing the stroller around. It's like a car ride in terms of getting kids to sleep. Or sometimes the baby will just fall asleep on their own and then we recline the stroller after baby's asleep.

Definitely take advantage of the play areas and get baby out of the stroller when you can though. One of my kids did better than the other at that age but being strapped in a stroller all day is tough.

Thanks for the tips! He does have a darkened room and white noise at home so I was curious what it would be like in the parks and at the cabin. We’re bringing his white noise and black out curtain but not sure if it’ll help much. He hasn’t slept in a pack n play since he was like 6 months.

We’re only planning to go to MK in the morning for rope drop. We haven’t decided if we’ll go back after his two naps. The time in between naps will be for swimming and relaxing at the fort. He normally takes a nap 3 hours after being awake and bedtime is 4 hours so I’m not sure if he’ll stick to that or not.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens!

Trying to rely on a child to take their nap in the stroller is very risky. Is it worth a potential terrible day if they dont nap?

I was blessed my kids napped anywhere and everywhere. We even had a terrible "umbrella" stroller that my 2.5 yr old napped in at the parks.

I use a white noise song, not all, that’s 60:00 long on iTunes called Baby’s Got Colic. I put that bad boy on blast on top of the stroller where the mesh opening is & I swear by it! Was $10 to download. Put that Godsend on repeat 😆

We’ve decided to go back to the cabin mainly because it’s going to be 93 while we’re there 🥵

There's also free versions on the Apple Podcast app and Spotify! The one we downloaded is "12 Hour Sound Machines (no loop)" by Brandon Reed, and we use the Brown Noise 15 hours version.
