Just got back from WDW and witnessed this scenario: Mom and dad are looking for their Maclaren stroller and can't find it. They find another one that looks like it, but she says that theirs didn't have the white part near the handles. The dad says "Did it ours have any identifying mark on it?" and the mom says "Yes, it had goldfish cracker crumbs in the seat area." My husband thought that was the funniest thing. Anyway the mom looked very distressed and wasn't sure what to do since she didn't really want to take the one that wasn't theirs, but wasn't sure how to locate her stroller.

Knot a ribbon or hankerchief to your stroller handle!

I didn't stay to watch what they did. I didn't want to say anything to add to their stress. I saw a lot of things the whole week that stressed me out: a guy that cutted in the soarin fast pass line, a little girl that fell off the bathroom counter and hit her head on the tile floor, a woman that placed her newborn face down on the awning of her stroller while she smoked a cigarette. So many times I wanted to intervene or say something but I know that I wear my emotions on my sleave and don't always think about the best way to approach a difficult situation.

WHAT?!

you are a better person than I am because I would have said somthing and it wouldn't have been pretty

I put LGMH's all over our stroller with a sign on the back with Buzz Lightyear saying Our last name BUZZ OFF! We had a lot of people say that it was a good idea to attach something to the stroller with your name on it. There was another thread awhile back where people were talking about strollers being taken. Some people even took the canopy off of their strollers and had their names embroidered on the top.

I saw a boy about age 9 or so get clotheslined by a rope in AK last week. It was horrible. The boy was running full speed to his dad and the dad was screaming for him to stop and the rope caught him full in the neck and he smacked back into the ground. He was screaming and holding his neck. It freaked me so bad that I about started crying. I keep wondering and hoping that they took him to the hospital and didn't blow it off. I was also amazed that AK has these brown ropes that are really hard to see. I almost walked into them several times myself.

OMG I saw the same thing happen at AK when I was there on 6/5! It wasn't the same day was it?? I fell so bad also, the parents didn't make a big deal over it and I couldn't realy tell if he was realy hurt or was just taken off guard. I felt so bad.:confused3

I'm with you, especially with the baby laying face down on the awning of the stroller!!!!!!!:scared1:

We put a sign that said "our name 2009" on the back of the stroller, as well as hung a luggage tag with our info from the handle. We got long pieces of blue and green ribbon and tied bows on about 4 different spots on the handle. We did put DS's "1st Visit" button on the shade also. I probably went a little overboard, but it was so nice to be able to see the stroller from a bit of a distance. It probably helps that I didn't see another Combi Flare in the same color while we were there. We also left our diaper bag (an older nike messenger bag) in the stroller while we were on rides- it had no valuables- just a few diapers and a spare outfit.

Mistaken stroller happened to us on our first visit. I could tell the one that was left wasn't actually ours, so we didn't want to take it. We just called security and they took a report. And they gave us a free double stroller rental for the rest of our stay. It ended up being a good deal for us because 1)it was the first day of our stay, 2) it was just an umbrella stroller, and 3) they were nice enough to let us have a double instead of a single. I was actually hoping someone would do it again on our last trip to get a free rental again. :rotfl: But, this time I used my head and tied ribbon on all our our strollers.

This happened to us with our Maclaren a couple years ago. There was a stroller identical to our parked right next to where we parked ours. Our stroller was not there. The stroller left had all kinds of tags on it with the people's names and their resort! I could not understand how they could have taken ours by mistake, which had no tags on it. Ours was in better shape, so maybe they were hoping to get a better stroller out of the deal.

Since their stroller was the same one, we assumed that they took it. We called the Poly where they were staying (according to the tags) and left a message for them that they had our stroller. We took theirs to Guest Relations. They got the message later that night and called us back and said they would leave our stroller at the front desk at the Poly. So we got it back, but it was a bit of an ordeal. The lady was not very nice about it. She was like, "well where did you put my stroller?" She was so annoyed that she was going to have to wait to have hers delivered to her later that day. No my problem lady!

So yes, from that point on we always put some sort of identification on our stroller.

*We also told a CM what happened and got a free rental for the rest of the day!*

My son's stroller has one of those cheapy kid's bike license plates attached to it. Looks just like a NY license plate with his first name on it. We attach it with zip ties so it can't be removed without sharp scissors.

We just bought a McLaren umbrella stroller since he outgrew has Joovy (the kid is a giant!). DH is artistically inclined and I was thinking of having him paint something on the awning or on the back of the stroller...something that would scream "This stroller is mine!"

We wrote our last name in permanent marker across the top awning. It might look a little tacky, but whatever. Nobody has taken it yet ;)

1. Take a diaper
2. Smear it with mustard or melted chocolate to make it "dirty"
3. Tie it up in a Ziploc or clear bag
4. Tie bag to handle of stroller

No one will touch it - guaranteed! :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: That reminds me of that babyshower game where you melt the chocolate put it in a diaper and have people taste it to guess what chocolate it is. Sorry random flash back.

LOL:lmao: I have done the diaper thing too..... Also a luggage tag with our name/address and our graco is an older version - and "well loved and traveled" Never had an issue.... Our stroller is the beat up yugo next to all the Mercedes and Escalades......

When we go I plan to decorate our stroller with all kinds of Disney ribbons and make a waterproof sign with our last name so that no one takes it. It is a Maclaren and I have seen the seat pattern several times so I don't want to take the chance it gets stolen and have to replace a $220 stroller.
