Stroller in storage? Check it pre-trip!

Just a funny warning to anyone else out there who only uses their stroller once-in-a-blue-moon.

We last used our stroller (a double city mini) in WDW in December 2014. It rode around in the back of a car for a little while, then got put in the garage.

I went down today to make sure my mommy hook was on the stroller. Thank heavens I did because I discovered 90% of my stroller was covered in mold, about 50% of it had grown "hair"!!!

There was also a rusty "My 1st visit!" button that was a friend of ours who came on the trip.

I saturated it with vinegar water, scrubbed it with a sponge, then thoroughly rinsed it down with water. Now it is in front of a giant fan in the garage drying.

If I hadn't gone down there til the night before our trip, I would've had to rent a stroller! Moral of the story folks....if you haven't used your stroller in a while, check it in advance!

Yuck! Good advice. My son hasn't used his stroller in probably 2 years but we're thinking of bringing it on our Disney trip. I probably should check it first!

I solved the mystery of how it ended up that way because I really couldn't figure it out! One of our pipes was leaking for a while and we found it gushing water--the stroller must have been under it and gotten soaked but in the rush of trying to fix the ceiling and pipes, just got set aside, still folded up, and molded.

I am happy to report it is like new again though! No smell at all. As it was drying I also sprayed it with lysol to kill any lingering grossness.
