I would invest in the volo check out ebay for some really good prices you can actually get on for less including shipping (as someone mention they are 75dollars) than what you would buy the black one from target the big difference is that you have a choice of colors. Originally I wasn't going to post this b/c everyone has mentioned them but since you also have a 17mth old I promise you it will not be a wasted investment and they maintain their value they are the Honda of strollers in my opinion.
This has been my experience w/ strollers and I have owned many to the point that I have even had some imported. My dh wants to kill me so I have started clearing them out but we will not mention to him that I bought another quicky that is about to go.
I use a Mac techno on a daily basis for my dd4 she will be 5 next month and she just weighed in at 40 pounds she doesn't walk so I needed the hight weight (the macs have a 55lb limit). My dd7 who will 8 next month weighs about 5-7 pounds more on several trips on everyone of my dd7's 8 trips she has been in a stroller and I promise you next year when we go again she will probably use one some then. I went to target put bothe of them in the volo b/c I really wasn't 100% about the volo b/c of the size fo the wheels well I put each one of them in it and pushed them on the carpet w/ no problem at all and the seat is wide so they were not squished. I have had several versions of the cheap 10-20 dollar umbrella strollers and the ones that don't have shocks on the wheels for older heavier kiddos it feels like the wheels aren't even rolling and this just happened w/ the winnie the pooh umbrella stroller from
walmart. Aother umbrella I had that I would recommend if you can find one is the kolcraft it was a silver frame and your choice color seat they were 19.99 at BRU and they were great and I used it w/ no problem. Kolcraft doesn't make them anymore but BRU does have a similar replacement on their website I just haven't used them so I really can't say for sure. Another difference that some people like about the mac is they are taller so people who are about 5'5" or taller don't have to bend down to push like w/ the cheapies.
Sorry this is so long and it is really more food for thought than anything. Have a great trip.
