Stroller for a 4yr and 6yr old?

I use a city mini double. I have a 6 yr old (whose joints flare up) and a 2 yr old. My six year old is tall and over 60 lbs.

He naps in it every time we are at Disney. Even though he is long - he still curls up and gets comfy. My DH and I had no problems pushing it with him in there.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

I'm planning to bring my single and rent a city mini double. My kids will be almost 2, 4, and almost 7. My younger 2 definitely need one as my 4 year old has leg issues. We are planning a few later nights and would like a place for DD7 to crash if need be. She gets very cranky when tired and I would rather have a place for her to lay down than deal with the whining. I think it is a lot to expect kids to go that long for 7 days. Plus she is very petite and her little legs get tired quickly.

We figure we can always leave the single in the room if we find we don't use it.

As long as you have to deal with a stroller, I would go ahead and make it a double. You aren't increasing your workload and you might make life easier.

The joovy would sell easily on Craig's list or a Facebook trading page. I would go ahead and sell it since you hate it and don't need it in real life. It's just losing value hanging out in your garage.

I would rent a city mini double from an off site location. Those Disney strollers look miserable to me. We used kingdom rentals last time and really liked them.

Just wanted to follow up as we are back from our trip! We rented a double city mini from Apple and it was the best thing we ever did! We were also traveling w another family who rented a double city mini for their 3, 6 and 8 yr old not thinking the 8 yr old would ever use it. Let me tell you by the end of the night both 6 yr olds and the 8 yr old were fighting over which 2 were going to sit in the stroller! It's a lot of walking and even I wanted to sit in the stroller!! Lol Plus, I can't imagine having to carry around my bag w snacks, water, juice, etc all day so was nice to be able to use the mommy clip and hang my bag and stick souvenirs and what not underneath the stroller. Hope that helps!!

In 2011 our kids were almost 4 and 7 and we rented a double. The following year they were 5 and 8 and the baby was 4 months old but I wore him most of the time we rented a double, however a single would've been good since we parked it most of the time. Every kid is different! It's a lot of walking and we rented them because we didn't want to deal with whining lazy kids halfway through the day. :thumbsup2 If your stroller is that hard to deal with then I would rent one...it's cheap, they're light and the strollers ride and turn extremely easy. Good luck deciding!

We just got back with a 1, 5, and 7 yr old. We had a double citi mini. The 7 yr old walked most days until after lunch. We did not go back to our rooms since the younger two will stroller nap. 7 year old only complained on the hotter days after lunch.....his sister then offered her side for short walks or we carried the baby in the ergo and let both big ones ride. When we did running of the bulls at DHS the two big ones rode while DH pushed (95 pounds) and ran to Jedi training....I carried 1 yr old in the ergo.

If 7 yr old had been walking at the 5 yr olds pace he would not have tired out so fast. My DH is a fast walker , had to be reminded constantly to slow down for 7 yo.
