Hello,
Well I am running into stroller problems. I am expecting our second in 4 weeks and am looking for a double stroller. My DS who is 3 1/2 who weighs 35lbs and is maybe almost 40 inches seem too big for the City mini or maclerans. He is almost at the point of probably wanting to walk more but in the case of malls and vacations I still want something for him. I looked at the joovy sit and stand and a phil and ted stroller. Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions of a stroller for us. I really don't care for the joovy but it may serve the purpose.
Thanks kerry

Have you considered taking 2 strollers? That may be your best bet with kids at this age. I think you'll find the Joovy a pain to push with the infant carrier and there isn't much room for an older child to sit down when that is in there. Our last trip, I had a 3.5 and an 8 month old. Two strollers were perfect for us.

Have you tried a City Mini (IRL)?

I only ask as my 46.5" 42# 5.5yo is workable in ours . . .. We LOVE it!

I see you're at the Jersey Shore - me too! I'd suggest heading up to Destination Baby in Woodbridge as they have floor models of just about every stroller you can imagine - incl the City Mini and Phil and Ted. Their prices are a bit high, so you may want to buy online or elsewhere but it's a great place for research. I fell in love with the City Jogger after seeing it there as it's great for tall, older kids (very high canopy height).

I have 2 double strollers - our "blue beast" Tike Tech Trax 360 double which we use only outside at parks, boardwalks, etc. and our Jane Powertwin which is great for indoor use as it's a tandem that steers like a dream. While I love my Jane, it has a low canopy height and I can no longer fit my oldest DS comfortably into it (so I wouldn't recommend it your case). Although I had my two youngest in the Jane while I was there and now they're considering carrying it as it is a nice stroller for the younger ones. :goodvibes

I LOVE stroller shopping (ok, I have an obsession...) and it's nice to be able to compare a bunch of them side-by-side in real life:

Print out the directions and follow them - they don't make a lot of sense (at least to me they didn't as I'm used to going to Woodbridge Mall :lmao: ) but they're accurate.

ETA - Peg Perego also now offers the 60/40 Twin Stroller - one side is larger than the other to accomodate different age kids.

We have a Joovy Ultralight and I really like it - my older son loves it too - 'cuz he can easily hop on and off to walk or take a break. Plus, I love where the handles are, because he can easily hold on while he's walking without tripping over the stroller. It works out really well for us. My oldest will soon be 4 and my younger one just turned a year.
In my opinion, I wouldn't get a double stroller - I'd get a sit 'n' stand, only because I feel like it'll last you longer.
