Stroller Exchange Questions

BACKGROUND:
My dh and I are bringing our ds4 to WDW in September, staying at BWV for 8nts. My dh does not think ds needs a stroller anymore - that we don't need to rent or bring our own from home. I sure love and respect this man, but he was overruled in a heartbeat!

My ds is about 43 lbs, so we have few stroller options. I know we can rent in the parks, but as we're staying at BWV, we'll be doing alot of walking outside the parks (plus we enjoy wandering/shopping in DTD).

I've read that the Maclaren volo is a good option for bigger kids, but I'm not too interested in spending $100 right now.

I have a jogger stroller that is still big enough for ds and I'm seriously considering UPSing it (about $25) to our resort so we don't have to tote it thru the airport (it doesn't fold down very small).

SO, HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS:
1. Do many people use jogger strollers in the parks?
2. Is it worth our trouble getting the bulky "folded" jogger on the busses when we go to MK and AK?
3. If I DO bring our jogger, would anyone be interested in "exchanging" it the end our stay. In other words, I will give the jogger to someone who needs it in exchange for a fair "fee." Haven't thought about exactly what that fee would be but I'm open to suggestions and feedback. All I thought was I'd ask enough to at least cover my approx. $25 shipping cost.

Any other advice? Thanks!

I have a similar situation in that I plan on bringing my DOUBLE jogging stroller. I posted a question on the boards here to see what people thought about it - here's the link to their replies:

I'm not too worried about the plane (I'll gate check the stroller) and getting around the parks shouldn't be an issue. My biggest concern, like I said in the post above, is with the WDW busses.

Good luck!

I would also be concerned about getting a jogging stroller on and off the busses. I have never owned one, but they look big and bulky and might not be too easy to get on and off, especially lugging any bags, souviners, and DS. I broke down and got the volo (for $68) and figure I can resell it after I am done with it and it costs about the same as renting for a week and it is lightweight. Have fun in The World!! :flower:
