Stroller/Diaper Bag Strategy...let me know what you think

Ask yourself this. If you're looking to steal a stroller/diaper bag and you see 10 strollers where it is obvious the owner doesn't care about the contents of their diaper bag, and 1 where the owner took steps to try and prevent it from being stolen, which would you choose to steal?

We just got back with two expensive strollers (we have twins). For ease of busses we had two backpacks. One had the basic baby stuff (diapers/ bottles) the other had the stroller stuff (rain covers/ fans/light blankets on the off chance it got chilly...it didn't). On the busses I had both babies and one backpack. Dh had the other pack and both strollers. Worked really well. I was paranoid about stuff growing legs and wandering away too, so I made sure to have triple what we needed back in the room (two more backpacks, ton more bottles and wipes containers and a second diaper changing pad). Nothing went missing. We left the stuff in the strollers 100% of the time unless we were getting on a bus or actively using it. All we brought on the rides were the babies (sometimes in a baby wearing device) and our phones. We made sure to park our strollers in the "correct" places so they were only moved once by a cm the whole trip.
On a side note, buy a rain cover that is specific to your stroller. It came in so handy. We watched other parents struggle with generic rain covers or ponchos and ours just zipped on and off. It rains for a little bit almost every day.

Suggesting you look at renting from one of the companies...the rental strollers are great for storage and comfort and are not necessarily expensive at all..much cheaper than the hard disney ones. We fit everything for two kids in our double twice, no issues with theft. We used a blue ikea bag to put thigns in, in individual bags.i had a diapers and wipes container I kept stocked with some of each in the parent console, it snapped on.clearly just diapers so nobody would want it. I unpacked our stuff after security and if someone wanted to steak they could see nothing good there! The ikea bag provided extra rain protection one day too!

Not sure if you already went or not, but wanted to say we did ziplocks and the nice things was we didn't need to take it all out at bag check they saw it was all ziplocks and let us go. My bag still needed to be checked.

I created this posts to gain feedback on this since I've never had to deal with a stroller before. It was due to my own paranoia (when you have your house broken into twice within 6 months, it happens). I don't plan on keeping anything but diapers, wipes, sippy cup and a change of clothes in the diaper bag. I would never leave anything of value in the stroller anyway. It looks like everyone who responded has had positive experiences with this.

Well..... here are some wishes for you to have a WONDERFUL time . We did glean good info in this thread, since this will be first trip with a stroller for us too.

on our first trip to disney with our toddler we used a backpack. the stroller and it matched, and we hung the backpack over the handles. when we went on a ride, DH wore the backpack and then set it on his shoes when we were on the ride. it was easier than a diaper bag. i had used the diaper bag before when out with baby and the stroller at Sesame Place. the diaper bag had a single strap that kept falling off my shoulder, swinging around and bumping into everything in the stall. Gross! For Disney i knew we had to try something else. Jansport Big Student Backpack was perfect. the material is super thin and we actually packed it in our carry on bag at the airport, it laid super flat. There are a bunch of compartments, which made it so helpful and the largest compartment fit her potty, which she uses at home, the Bjorn compact potty, slides right in and out of the compartment, and it barely fit in the diaper bag. As far as zip tieing, i think something else would be a better option unless you are never planning on removing it. We left many things under the stroller, and our resort mugs tied with a fluorescent shoe lace to the cup holders, and it was never bothered with. We also saw many strollers just left as is, with the kids' drink in it, all their stuff it in, just took out the kid and went on the ride. One other thing that may work well is using clip, like a linking clip for baby toys, and let the bag hang from it. Good luck and have a good time! dont forget to pack the sunscreen

For peace of mind, we brought cheap umbrella strollers and ugly diaper bags. We then marked them up to make them look even worse. We left all kinds of things in those strollers/bags over the years and nothing was ever touched. Things like cameras and Disney merchandise - no problem.
