Stroller Bag?

I'm between taking a backpack and one of the baggallini messenger bags this December. I'm almost considering BOTH since it will be Dec. and we may need to bring extra clothes to layer. My question is: has anyone devised a good way to attach your bag(s) to the back of a Disney rental stroller? DS (will be 4, has autism) will not allow us to put the bag on the top of the stroller OR in the stroller with him. It pretty much has to hang from the back, on the handles. Would the baggallini be easy to take on and off? A backback just never hangs very well. DH is thinking of modifying a backpack with velcro for easy on/easy off. We like to take our bag in with us to meals/certain attractions and leave the stroller parked, so it needs to be a quick on and off.

Any ideas before my husband starts cutting the straps on all of our backpacks? :earseek:

I bought a Laundry Bag from Toys R us in their baby department on sale. The brand is Especially for baby. It is a mesh bag white and is 18 by 18 with a zipper. It have two ties on the top that will let it tie to a changing table etc. I am taking this to tie onto the stroller.

Do the rental strollers have baskets underneath or another place to place a bag? Where do most people place their bags?

I have a Baggilini and love it for everyday use. It is very easy to take on and off. I hate to carry a purse and don't like carrying a huge diaper bag and this point in my kids lives, so it is perfect to stash a few diapers and some wipes along with my own stuff in there. I have received several compliments on it here in my own town.

However, I found it too small to hold all the stuff I needed for my kids, 2 and 4, during a trip to Silver Dollar City in Branson. Hats, fans, sunblock, diapers, wipes, 2 pairs of flip flops for water play, etc ... I haven't been to WDW, but if it were just me and DH at SDC by ourselves, it would have been perfect but the depth doesn't allow it to hold too many bulky things. It even has a bookbag-type organizer pocket that would be helpful for keeping tickets, paperwork, whatever.

Have you looked at the Skip Hop bags? They are designed for going on the back of the strollers and for carrying. Here is a link to their website so you can check them out. Skip Hop
I just ordered the Duo from www.strollandgo.com for $50 and free shipping to use for our Disney trip. It looks like it will hold a lot of stuff.

Although.........altering the backpack may not be such a crazy idea. If you have a cheap one to try it on, go for it! Let us know how it works if you do!

Here is a link to Allearsnet.com so you can see what the park strollers look like. Disney Rental Stroller pictures Be sure to scroll down and check out the pics from the other parks. They vary a little. There is no basket underneath them. I believe just some small pockets on the back of the canopy. You can fit small bags and stuff in there. I wouldn't leave anything real valuable while going on rides since park strollers are easy to confuse and have been taken, either by mistake or otherwise. We had a rental taken just shortly after renting it while we were getting some character pics in the front of town hall. Luckily we didn't have a bunch of stuff in it yet.

I don't know if you have Babies R Us or Buy Buy baby where you live, but they sell these strong plastic swivel type hooks that fit onto ANY stroller handle. They are only $4 for 2. You can put as much as 6 pounds of bags on each hook. This is a NECESSITY for me, even though I have a basket under my stroller.

I REALLY like the idea of the skip hop! DS will be 4 on our trip, but because of autism is more like a young 2 year old. We will need to bring to the parks with us diapers, wipes, toys, sippy cup, etc. How hard would it be to carry in on rides? I may get the messenger bag looking one instead, would hold less but would be easy to clip off and take. I need our bag in ride lines and in restaurants, so it would have to come on and off the stroller repeatedly. I may also pick up some of the clips to attach for additional items. Being December we will have jackets, etc as well as our new Pal Mickey to keep up with. Thanks SO much for the advice, it has been a lifesaver! :earsgirl:

Marj70,

My Skip Hop Duo just came the other day and I got a chance to use it yesterday at the zoo. LOVE it! I comes with a shoulder strap that you take off when you wish to connect it to the stroller. Just stow it in the bag and when you unclip the bag from the stroller you can either clip on the shoulder strap or there is a little strap handle on the back of the bag for carrying. I used the outside pockets for my sippy cups and the cell phone pocket, I put my car keys in it. I even carried my Starbucks in the adjustable netted bottle holder on the side. I carried diapers, wipes, extra blankie, my camera and still had quite a bit of room.

I considered the Dash model, but it doesn't have the netted holder on the outside and I really liked that. Plus, for the stroller I preferred not having the flap so I had easy access to stuff in the pockets and interior. Some things to consider!

It really worked wonderfully for us. I'm glad I got it for our Disney trip coming up. I highly recommend it!

This bag looks AMAZING!!!! I am definitely thinking I have to get one. Kizmac, what color did you end up getting? Any reason why you chose the Duo as opposed to the other 2 models they have? Did you get a color that even your DH wouldn't feel silly carrying around? LET ME KNOW! Thanks! :sunny:

I went with the Mushroom color because I thought it matched my Peg Perego P3 in the Hip Hop color the best. It matches the tan on the stroller pretty close.LOVE the camo and really love the pink, but both would of clashed drastically with my stroller. I will mostly be using it on the stroller so I figured it best just to match that. I could of went with the black which would of hid the dirt the best but that seemed too boring,LOL. Anyhow, after using it at the zoo, some of my juice cups leaked on it and I just wiped it off when I got home. Cleaned up very nicely with just some water and a little Dawn.

I personally went with the Duo because of the netted bottle/cup holder that the Dash and the Expo doesn't have. It worked wonderfully holding my Starbucks cup and it's adjustable. The flap on the Dash just seemed to be a pain to me as for the bag will mainly be my stroller bag. I like the easy access to the pockets and the interior.

If you are looking for a bag that you will also use everyday and not just on the stroller and can live with out the adjustable cup netted holder, then the Dash may be better for you because it's not as vertical as the DUO and so you stuff is not as stacked. For your DH to carry though, I would think the DUO would be more his style than the Dash. Hmmm, wouldn't it be wonderful to own both style bags :rotfl: ..... I'm starting to think I need a pink Dash for my magenta Mac Volo. LOL Anyhow, I hope I helped you decide!

www.strollandgo.com has the Duo for $50 w/free shipping. They also have the other styles too for a little more $.

I was just wondering if you think that this diaper bag would fit on my DS's stroller type wheelchair? The handle is hooked (sort of like the handle of an umbrella) I am attaching this link. Ds has the Convaid Cruiser. I am looking for a diaper bag for the back. I have not had luck with a wheelchair bag. The bag looks like it would work but those of you who have one what do you think???????

While we were there in July, we noticed the Disney Studios received some new strollers. They looked like the older models but they did have a small basket underneath.

I was big enough to hold my backpack.

This got me thinking - I wonder if just using some Caribiner Clips would work? They sell different size ones at Home Depot. Just a thought.

I just measured the bag and the distance of the straps that would hook on the wheelchair and I think that as long as the distance of the handles are no more than 18 to 19 inches it should work fine. I would measure from outside of one handle to the outside of the other and see if it's less than 19 inches.

If you order one, I would definitely order from a place with free shipping. Incase it doesn't work you can always just send it back and it will only cost you the return shipping.

Just wanted to update this thread and thank everyone for the advice. The Skip Hop Duo was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Got it for $50, free shipping. It holds a lot more than it looks like it will. We tested it out today at our local amusement park (Wild Adventures here in Valdosta). The strollers are very close to Disney's, but I think this bag would attach to about anything. The cup in the front pocket is actually quite large and fit perfectly. It's also quick through security since you can see everything inside quickly. Here are a couple of pictures, not great quality. We didn't have our camera with us but DH snapped these with his camera phone.
