Stroller bag

For various reasons, I am considering checking a stroller as part of my luggage (and having ME deal with it since we won't go to the parks our first day). Does anyone have suggestions on how to pack an umbrella stroller? I've got a gate check bag, but it won't work.

I would highly recommend gate checking any stroller rather than checking it at the counter. Too much potential for damage. If you do check this at the counter, you can still use the gate check bag.

I would also recommend gate checking instead of checking it as baggage. However with that said, I did put my stroller in a travel bag when I gate checked it. I think that the reason I ended up getting the bag was because I had read a story on here about a stroller that got damaged at gate check. You don't see bad stories like them very much, but it gave me piece of mind

Curious as to why a gate check bag won't work (aside from the obvious that in big print it says GATE CHECK)?

That side, if you have a gate check bag, just gate check it. That way, you have it IF you need it the first day (Downtown Disney, resort hopping, etc).
