Most public transit buses in America are JUST like the ones at Disney. I don't know if you have similar vehicles in London but all I know y'all do have is those tourist double-decker buses....
Do your bus drivers have a limit on how many strollers and accessible devices can be on the bus at once? We have limits here... These North American buses, there's room in the bus for maybe TWO accessible benches at the front door . Disney goes the extra distance and designs a middle section that can be used for an
ECV.
These small sections of seats fold up and down to accommodate different needs. If you have a stroller then you lift the seats and park there. If you have a wheelchair you lift and wheel in and secure yourself. If you have a rollator, you sit down and perch with your rollator in front of you.
Three people show up with strollers, one of them is going to be waiting for the next bus. 2 strollers, one rollator? Sorry, one stroller family has to wait for the next bus. 4 rollators, okay that's fine, but 5 means that someone will be asking for another passenger's seat and there will be trouble if they can't fold up the rollator so it's not in the aisle. Yes this is a serious problem if you have an appointment or something time-sensitive.
Somehow Disney
needs to get all these people transported in a timely fashion so they INSIST on folding all strollers and jamming people in unless it's a medical necessity. But at least when I've ridden forms of
public transit, most drivers draw the line at 2 strollers/4 rollator users, and they just tell the others that they have to wait for the next bus. If you're kind and have folded up your umbrella stroller and made it as unobtrusive as say, an umbrella, then you stand a better chance, but the driver is likely to not let you on the bus unless this has already happened and you're ready to get on the bus. Not waiting until he pulls up and then unpacking everything/everyone. But that doesn't apply to double strollers, car seat-carrying models, or anything more substantial.
