Stroller Advise

I will speak from experience… do not bring the BOB. I love love love mine to pieces, but not at Disney. It is literally the one place I won’t take it after actually trying. Get two lightweight inexpensive umbrellas and the little hook to connect them or just one for each adult. So much easier on the busses, in dining places, so many places.

I tried to convince my husband this was a bad idea...but since he'll be doing 99% of dealing with the stroller, I figured it was his decision to make incorrectly 😆

I would have a plan be just in case he decides he made the wrong choice

I borrowed a double from a mom on Facebook. It was a Babytrend, so not that expensive anyway. It was fine in transportation and buses. It's pretty small as double strollers go. Some of those strollers, like the double Bob, I wonder how anyone got in an Uber.

I don't think much of the stroller set uses an uber.

The worst experience we ever had at Disney with with an umbrella. The second worst was with a rented double bob equivalent (DH somehow forgot to put the stroller into the car 🤦‍♀️).

I swear by the Baby Jogger city mini for its easy fold, maneuverability, big sunshade, and ability to recline. For the 3 year old - and even the 5 year old - I don’t think there’s a better option on the market.

For the 5 year old with the possibility that the 8 year old may need a break on occasion I would bring the Bob. We did it once. It’s a beast to fold but would accommodate the larger children more comfortably. Disney is an awful lot of walking so even if your 5 year old is out of a stroller at home you will likely need one on occasion.

I would STRONGLY recommend 2 singles instead of a double. That way if you find that you don’t need the second you can leave it in the room or parked somewhere and just come back to it for longer walks.

The problems with lightweight/inexpensive strollers are:
They aren’t comfortable to ride in
They aren’t comfortable to push
Connecting them never works that well
They are way too small for a 5 year old
They offer virtually no sun protection
The fold is harder than the baby jogger

I lived in NYC with 2 kids until DS was 5 and we put thousands of miles on our strollers over the years.

We went in '17 with my the 3 & 5 year old. My 5 year was in it more than my 3 year old. We rented from kingdom strollers as above poster. it was waiting for us at the hotel when we got there and I just handed it back to bell service when we were done. We got a free rain cover which was a life saver because it POURED half our trip. I could slip the girls under the cover and they were dry, it was great when we were on rides and would come out to a dry stroller since it had rained while we were in line. I will say we walked roughly 8-10 miles a day. Having a good stroller is really great. Umbrella sometime you have to bend over to push and can be a little harder to push. Plus we kept our back pack of "stuff in the stroller, so it was some less to haul around. GL!

We have a 3 yr old wild child who we will be bringing a stroller for to use this July. She will be in the stroller a good bit because she will run at every chance. We have a Baby Jogger City Mini GT and Baby Jogger Summit X3. I’m feeling like she sits kinda low even with seat adjusted to its highest. I think it’s the design? She’s shorter for her age too. For those who have maybe used both, or fans of Bob, Uppa, etc, any pros/cons for other models we might buy that would give her a boost so she can see better? We’re also looking for models that have good air flow.

For a 3 year old star city mini is the perfect balance between size and convenience.

Save the Bob (or Summit) for when she needs more space.

Just to update, my husband seriously regretted the Bob Revolution double. He saw a city mini double and said "that's the one you said we should get, right? That looks so much better than this"

Are you set on one of those two or considering buying one?

We absolutely love the Graco RoomFor2. It's a sit-stand for a baby/toddler and bigger sibling, configured front-to-back so it's easy to navigate, and it folds up SMALL. It's the only double stroller I've seen that folds small enough to go through the x-ray belt at the airport security checkpoint.

The only part that kind of sucks is the canopy, but I wouldn't worry too much about it in March.

We used this stroller for a few years and many trips to WDW, the zoo, the aquarium, children's museams etc. I don't really have anything to add to the thread, but this brings back memories. I got really good at maneuvering it through crowds and folding it in 2 seconds flat, in one swift move. Sometimes I would lift the back wheels a bit to make a sharp turn. I miss those days. Good times.
