I plan on taking my own stroller when we go to Disney. I just recently sold my son's stroller he had when he was a baby...you know the kind that the carrier sits on. I sold it cheap to a gf of mine who couldn't afford a new one.

Now I'm looking at a trip to Florida that was unexpected and I dont have a stroller. Normally we just rent one at the mall or my son just walks. He is 3. Any recommendations for a good stroller for a 3 year old?? I dont just want a cheap umbrella stroller but one that looks like it's for a bigger kid that will be comfortable for him.

I really dont want to rent a stroller but is that easier since I wouldn't have to worry about carrying it on the bus???

Suggestions...advice...please!!!

Baby Jogger City Series...Mini goes up to 50lbs Classic up to 75. I use the classic for my now 6.5 yr old 51lb-er and it is awesome. Can;t say enough about it. I prefer to bring than rent as I can use the stroller around the hotel, onto the monorail, in the airport etc.

I would buy or rent one from an outside company (like orlandostrollerrentals.com). If you rent in the parks, you only have the stroller in the parks. So, when you leave the park, you don't have a stroller from the park to the bus/monorail/boat or from the bus/monorail/boat to your resort room. At the end of the day when everyone (you included) is tired, it isn't fun to carry a 3 yo!

Good luck!

I second this!!!! I just got the BJCM for my just turned DS who just turned 4 last week. We have already used it alot around our neighborhood. We love it and I ordered it from Albee.com and it was at my door in 3 days. Best stroller I have ever owned!

Take your son with you to a Baby's R Us store. They have all brands and sizes lined up to try out. This way you can see how well he fits inside and how it folds and maneuvers. You can also compare features and pick the best one for your kid.

The baby city strollers are nice but don't fold up like an umbrella stroller, the maclaren strollers are a heavy duty umbrella stroller that go upto 55 lbs really easy to travel with (my friend has one) and don't take up alot of space if you are driving to Disney. I personally have 2 peg perego strollers but they only hold up to 45 lbs but I got them both off craigslist for $20 each and they serve the purpose of transporting around Disney which is the only time we use strollers now. If I find a cheap maclaren I may trade one, but I could not see spending upwards of $250 -$300 for a new stroller which is what the Peg perego, Maclaren and baby city strollers cost.

For older kiddo's I like Combi, not cheap, not expensive but good quality, and they fold down really nicely. The pervious posters are right having your own stroller in the hotel/buss/DTD/Monorail/end of day with your tired and thier tired is key to not ruining the fun and good time you all just had. They also go upto 55lbs.

We just got our older toddler a mac volo for our trip next month. It is light in color, has a fairly good size hood, mesh back, very lightweight and folds like an umbrella stroller. It was about $90 on albeebaby. com. While the Citi Mini has a big following, if you are only using the stroller for the trip, I would personally have a hard time dropping $250+ on a stroller that you wouldn't need at home too.

I bought a Maclaren Triumph for our Disney World trips! It was great! It will hold up to 55 poundsand it only weighs 11 pounds! It has a carrying strap so you can carry it over your shoulder. I could easily carry that on one arm, and my 2 year old on the other!

The other PLUS with it, is it reclines! Most umbrella strollers that I looked at didn't have that option!

I recently rented the double from orlandostrollerrental.com. I read thru the testimonials and heard good things from other postings on this site and decided I would try it. When I completed rental I got the email and a call confirming my rental. I wont get it until we arrive july 28th but I will let you know how it worked out when we get back, good luck
