Next summer will be our first WDW trip with kids. DS will be 4 and DD will be 2. I plan on using a stroller for both of them, but have a few questions from those of you who have have experience. Would we be better to take our two umbrella strollers for the kids or rent a double stroller at each park?

What are some of your tips for "marking" your stroller for easy identification in crowded areas?

Thanks for any advice. We can't wait until June.

I would take at least one single, if not two. There is a lot of walking outside the parks (resort room to bus/boat/monorail stop, stop to park entrance, etc.), and a 2 yo isn't going to want to walk at the end of the day (and you won't want to carry him/her). I would guess that it might be the same for a 4 yo.

We took a stroller for DD2, but I haven't taken a 4 yo. We met a couple on our trip that had brought a stroller for their 2 yo and ended up buying a stroller for their 4 yo. They were so happy that they bought one for the 4 yo.

Also, taking 2 singles allows you and your spouse to split up if desired.

Just a bright tag, even a luggage tag, can help id your stroller. I have a big red plastic flower tag (matches my stroller) with my DH's cell phone number on ours. (I don't really need something to id my stroller - it is an almost 7 yo Pliko, so I don't see many others!)

I would bring my own 2 strollers. The rentals are not that great for younger children, and it is nice to have them to get to the bus/boat/car when leaving the parks at night when the kids are exhausted anyway. I always go to WalMart and buy a very colorful ribbon spool and tie a big ribbon on my stroller handle. I also take a self stick address label and put it under the frame of my stroller out of sight just in case there is a problem with someone else saying it is their stroller.

Thanks for the great ideas. I think the umbrella strollers it will be! They won't take much room to pack and should be easier to maneuever around the parks.

We just got back from Disney and this is what we did. We had rented a single stroller from A Baby's Best Friend & had it delivered to the resort. The stroller was bigger then I thought so for the parks that took buses we rented dbl strollers at the parks. We always left by nap time so the nap issue really didn't play into our plan. On the days we took the monorail to MK & Epcot we took the single stroller except for MNSSHP when they gave rental strollers for free. I realized after the 2nd day that DD5 & DS8 were getting very tired walking around so for the rest of the week I rented a dbl stroller for them. Normally I don't have to have DS8 in a stroller but the week we were there it was in the 90's and very very humid and I could tell it was really affecting him so stroller it was. Most of the time he walked but the stroller was there if he needed it. Sorry to go on & on but I'd bring a stroller for each because the amount of walking is unbelievable and then factor in the weather - I'd definitely have a stroller for both of them.

Have fun.

Hands down my favorite brand stroller to take to any theme park is
Maclaren strollers!!! They are sooooo lightweight (never had any experience with their double stroller thank GOD... no offense :rotfl: )
and they have a strap where you can carry them on your shoulder when not in use. I like the Maclaren Volo but they have several models to choose from...
