hi everyone! Although I'm new to posting on the DIS boards, I've been lurking for quite a while & have found this site to be very useful...so thanks for all of the great tips!
I do have a question about strollers -- I also posted this question on the budget board since that is the "home" of stroller swaps!
First, a little background-- I have had rheumatoid arthritis for the last 38 years and have had many, many surgeries, including joint replacements. We are so blessed to have a health, happy and active 2 1/2 year old boy. I manage to keep up with him fairly well, but he is quick!
We are going to WDW from 9/21 to 9/25 and are staying at the Contemporary. This is a multi-generational trip (me,DH,DS, my mom & dad & my MIL) and two of the grandparents will be using mobility scooters. (Part of the reason we are staying at the CR is because of the convenience of going back to the room to rest during the day -- and ease of use of the monorail)
Here's my dilemma -- I know we will need to have a stroller for our trip. DS is 3 feet tall & 37 pounds -- he is definitely too much to carry for very long, especially very far -- even for DH! We have a couple of strollers I use at home (a nice comfy fully-loaded easy to push--but heavy-- one for the mall; an easy to fold light weight harder to push one for quick trips) but neither seem right for this trip. One is too big & heavy -- the other doesn't steer well. I know I will be the one who does most of the pushing -- holding onto the stroller helps me walk when I'm tired/hurting.
any suggestions for a light weight, easy to push, easy to fold & handle stroller that I might be able to find in one of my local consignment stores? We have a lot of great re-sale shops but I'm at a loss as to preferred brands, features, etc ! I've only been to WDW twice -- neither time with kids!
Thanks for reading this long post -- and TIA for any help!
