We are going to Disney in May. It will be myself and my 2 boys ages 12 and 3.5. I know we will need a stroller for the 3.5 year old. We have a Chicco Liteway Plus. It folds up fairly well however is definitely alot heavier then a regular cheap umbrella stroller. It also has a basket and is at a comfortable height for me to push and not hurt my back (I have issues with my back). Now here is my question, should I bring the stroller with me or just rent one there. I do not need the stroller for the airport so I thought about checking it with checked luggage. We are not taking a carry on (besides backpacks, everything else will be checked)

Any recommendations with a 3 year old?

Personally, I always bring my own even though you can rent and even some will deliver to your hotel room. I think there is something about using your own stroller if you like yours and can't get an exact one when you rent. But it can be harder to haul and possibly tossed around when you fly.

I gate checked mine after the first time. I didn't have one so I purchased one online and had it shipped to the resort for my niece. I lost the cup holder (kind of my fault) as I couldn't get it off before gate checking and of course it came off by the time I collected it.

We bring a smaller umbrella stroller to use in the airport should we need it. We rent a better one through Kingdom Strollers for the parks because they're more comfortable and can store more. Love it how they deliver it right to the hotel and pick it up again.

We always bring our stroller and gate check it. We have a City Mini and could totally rent one while down there but we prefer to have our own.

Bring it! We are bringing our own when we go this summer. We have a Jeep Cherokee stroller (like Kolcraft Cloud) and a First Years Ignite. One of them will come along.

I would bring it. I wouldn't want to rent one and have to deal with trying to figure out a new stroller when you're supposed to be enjoying your vacation

I say bring a light one, 16lbs or lighter. Mainly bc it's easier to move from point A to point B with a toddler in a stroller.

You might look into getting a Zobo stroller from TRU as a park stroller. They are super cheap when on sale and I think a decent value for the price. They also come in unique colors which make them standout in the sea of black city minis. We have a 16lb Britax b-adgile that I have traveled with very easily (get the britax stroller bag to keep it clean during travel!). We now use a Summer stroller in orange with a huge canopy (I think color is exclusive from buybuybaby.) and it's ok. A little right for him, but we don't really buckle it anymore.

So, I guess, the moral is, bring a small, light stroller to gate check.

I say bring it. Unless you rent from offsite you won't have a stroller outside the parks. Waiting for the bus holding a sleeping 3.5 year old can get painful. We have a great Graco that is light weight and tall enough for my 6'6" husband. It's made several trips to the world. Can't imagine going without it.
