String's Atkin's Journal (Please Comment)

Beth,

Sending big  your way today. I pray that today is a much better day for you.::yes::

Take good care of you sweetie,

Tracy:wave2:

Beth, I know you've gotten lots of hugs and pixie dust already, but I'm sending more anyway!  :wizard: :wizard:

I'm so sorry about the accident and about the screaming woman. She has issues!! I think calling the police was the right thing to do, regardless of her reaction.

Do not feel bad about keeping your doctor's appointment on Friday. YOU (well, your insurance) are paying THEM - they can do what is best for you and you've been kept waiting long enough! They can reschedule the pelvic but you need to see the doc!

Poor Katie and poor Mom!! Those allergy symptoms are no fun to deal with for either of you and you could both use a good night's sleep. I hope her doc has something to help her.

Take care of you today, dear Beth! :sunny:

Oh my goodness, Beth. I am so very, very sorry about your accident and the horrible screaming woman. Thank goodness everyone is alright.

Gosh, you just don't need all this %$^#@! that keeps coming up and it's not fair that you're going through so much. I'm saying a prayer that you find the strength and peace you so need and deserve.

I hope Katie finds some relief at the Dr.--allergies can be so draining because sometimes they just don't let up! I also hope that your Dr. appointment goes well. If you feel you need your doctor, then you need to go--they can just deal with rescheduling the pelvic!

Oh Beth, I do hope you can get some rest today. You are doing the best you can possibly do for everyone around you. I believe that you secretly have the Power of Isis and a golden lasso--only Wonder Woman could handle everything you do! :)

You are in my thoughts and prayers, Beth. :grouphug:

:rotfl: :rotfl: Katie is obsessed with Wonder Woman at the moment, and she will be very impressed with the comparison. She and Daddy have been watching the 1st season, and she explained to her teacher that nazis were people a long time ago that wanted to kill everyone and make slaves (thats people who are kept like pets, but only if you are mean to your pets) of everyone not from Germany. They were very bad people, but Wonder Woman saved us all. My 4 year old's take on WW2.

I am not going to the Y. I am cramping too badly to walk much. We now have a new med for Katie, and I hope it works. She ended up seeing the only MD in the office I don't like, and he treated me like an idiot, but I gave it back to him. Katie said "Mommy, you're not supposed to scare my doctor's. They are only trying to help" I didn't say anything inappropiate, but she understood my tone more than he did. The MD's I work with know not to mess with me around TOM.

We then did some shopping therapy. We finished getting Katie her clothes for fall. We got some great bargains, so I am happy.

Plan for the rest of the afternoon is to CLEAN! I need to take down Katie's blinds and wash them, dust the room and her "collections"Finish washing her beddings, and clean out her drawers and closet to make room for her new clothes.

I'll hit journals this evening. Thank you everyone for all the hugs and pixie dust. I really am feeling better today, but I appreciate them none the less.

Have a great afternoon.
Beth

AAAHHHH! Shopping Therapy! That ALWAYS works for me!:teeth:

Seriously I hope both you and Katie are feeling better. That thorough cleaning of Katie's room should help her and you will feel like you've got a great start on fall cleaning!!

Just remember to take good care of yourself admist all this other "stuff"! Drink your water and eat what seems right. (I know you want to add in some other foods, so don't tackle strict low carb with TOM around! )

TTFN-
Sharon :sunny:

I won't be able to get to my journal in the morning, so I will post my plan for the day.

I have my MD appointment at 815AM. I then need to make an appointment for Katie and I to get our hair cut. I need to stop by Meijer to get something for a potluck at work. I need to pick Katie up from school. Lunch and a nap. I need to make dinner for Won and Katie. I work a 12 hour shift. Saturda I get off work at 8AM and need to be back at 4pm to work an 8 hour shift. Sunday the firehouse is having an open house that we will take Katie to. then a birthday dinner with Won's brother. It will just be him and the 3 of us. It will also give us the opportunity to find out what is going on with PG. I also need to make some Kahlua cookies because that is what DBIL wants those for his bday.

I hope to get to some journals throughout the weekend. I am sending

:goodvibes to all.

Have a great weekend,
Beth

I love my doctor. She knew I was going to be complicated, so she didn't book back to back appointments. She spent 1.5 hours with me. We did a ton on blood work, and we'll see what it says. She isn't happy that I took myself off the meds, but at least I did it correctly. Once the bloodwork is back, she will call me to decide on treatments. She also went through my diet with a fine tooth comb and is satified with it. I should have some answers in the next couple of weeks. I go back on the 20th for my pelvic.

Funny thing happened at weigh in. I weighed in at 209 3/4 pounds clothed . I didn't believe them and made them recalibrate their scale. Mine read 214 without clothes during TOM this am. I am very happy to hear that my scale is high, but I will be using that number because that is what I have been using all along. It is really nice to know that I amcloser to Onederland than I thought.

I am off to take a nap before work. I hope everyone has a great day.
Beth

Beth, such wonderful news all the way around!! I love your doc and I don't even know her!! I'm so happy that you have someone like her to work with you on your health issues. She is a gem! I even love her scale!!

Take good care of you this evening through your shift. If you're too sleepy to drive home in the morning, please call Won to pick you up or take a short nap in your car before leaving, OK? You are too precious to take chances with! ::yes::

Beth:
Wonderful news!! It's so hard to find a doctor that will spend the time to discuss your health concerns. I truly believe that learning a patient's health issues cannot be done in the 5 minutes that they spend with you.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Hi Beth,
As usual, I am amazed at the amount of stuff you manage to accomplish during your day. That post up above where you are working a ton, going to all these events, cooking, cleaning, major fall cleaning stuff too! And all this with doctor's appts, and TOM to boot!!! I'm sorry and this may be totally sexist, but guys just can't do what we women can...would you ever expect to give that "to do" list to any man and expect it to get accomplished??? NOT!!

Hugs to you Beth! You ARE Wonder Woman!!:worship:
Jean

Beth- I have been away from journals all week. I am so sorry about the fender bender. Tha is so stressful especially with the woman calling you up all irate.

He was trying to be helpful, so last night he got some clothes together for me, and he put them in my dufflebag. They were what I told him I needed. he did a good job, except for one omission. He forgot my bra.
Now this just cracked me up. OMG- and if I understand your tag correctly this is a recurring problem. (forgets to pack undergarments.)

Have a good night,
Mary

Beth,

Hey girl! I am glad to hear that your appointment went well.::yes:: This doctor of yours sounds like a good one.::yes::

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Tracy:wave2:

Oh Beth, I am so glad that your Dr. appointment went so well--she must be a gem! :) She sounds like someone whom you trust so wholeheartedly, and I bet that she comes up with a Tx plan that will have you feeling so much better!

A big congrats on the weigh-in! Wasn't it a nice surprise to see that scale so much lower than you thought?! :hyper: ONEDERLAND here you come!

I hope your weekend is just ONEDERFUL! :teeth:

Hi, Beth.:wave2: Thank you for taking time to visit me in my journal and sharing such kind, supportive thoughts. You're such a good friend.

I've been amazed at all that's happened in your life this week. Now wait, don't get me wrong, you ALWAYS have a lot going on, but this week's journal had me worrying about your accident, cracking up over the bra story, and celebrating your doctor's appointment (wonderful doc, wonderful scale). All in a week's work, right, Beth?

Have a good weekend and try to get some time in there for yourself, OK?

 ,
Erin

Thank God this work weekend is over. It was truly bizarre and exhausting. Friday night I was proposed to by a 83 year old because of my foley placement skills. Anyone who has had a foley catheter knows just how wrong that is. We had a 41 year old who is waiting for a CABG ( heart bypass) who was off the monitor. I had agreed to let his wife stay the night, and they were having sex. His statement was<"I could die in surgery tomorrow, and your upset I want to enjoy my last night!!" I made the wife leave. I doubled back, I got off work at 9 (shift ends at 8, but my replacement was late) and I had to be back at 330. I live 45 minutes from the hospital. I was exhausted and there was a potluck. I sinned. I don't feel upset by it because I needed the carbs to get me through the shift. I will deal with the consequences.Of course a patient died, believe me when I say that was a blessing, and I felt I couldn't leave the family when my shift ended. I stayed untile 2AM. I am too old to double back, and I will never do it again.

Today I need to stop at JoAnn Fabrics for some supplies. Kate is going to make a leaf project for her uncle's bday. I am getting some jewelry wire that she can wrap around a paper towel roll, so it spirals. I will take a colorful leaf she finds on out walk to the nature center and wax iron it. Then I will tie some fishing line to it, and Kate can string beads in it. We'll put the leaf down the center of the spiral, and you have a silent windchime. I also need to do the laundry that I neglected this week. Dinner with Won's brother. I hope to start catching up on journals today.

Have a wonderful fall day,
Beth

Oh, Beth, how DO you do it?? God bless you and every other nurse out there! ::yes:: Having sex??? I DO hope it was a private room with actual walls & a door!!!

As for the extra carbs, I think your body NEEDED them. Don't give it a second thought.

Katie's project sounds absolutely wonderful - I bet it will be her uncle's favorite gift!

Have a wonderful day, dear Beth! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hi Beth, sorry i've not been around for a while - & i thought i was busy!!!! How do you do it???
Look after yourself & take care:wave:

Oh Beth, God Bless You for being there for your patient's family--I'm sure you were of great comfort to them. My ds9 was born two months prematurely, and also had bacterial menengitis when he was three. I have the *utmost* respect, admiration and love for those who are in the nursing profession. Actually "nursing" is only one of the myriad of jobs you perform. When ds was hospitalized with menengitis, our closest relatives were over 700 miles away. Chris's nurses *were* our family. To say that nurses are special people is the world's greatest understatement--how do you adequately express how grateful you are to the people who helped *save your child's life*?. Even six years later, I still remember his care team in my prayers. As someone who has seen up close your compassion, dedication, professionalism and life-saving skills, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Oh, now I'm all weepy--but in a good way. :D

Have a lovely, peaceful Sunday, Beth. :sunny:
