String's Atkin's Journal (Please Comment)

Hi Beth!:D  I've just spent the last 45 minutes catching up on your journal. First I want to apologize for not being around much lately. You're so kind to keep up with my journal, you're always popping in to say hi and give encouragement.

I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through with PG. I can't imagine how difficult a situation this must be for you and your family. I want you to know that you're in my prayers and hope that you stay safe. This is so scary. I know you know this, but please be careful and always be aware of your suroundings.

You've done a wonderful job hanging in there with your weight loss. I'm amazed at how consistent you are with journaling and excercising Don't give up Beth, slow and steady wins the race as they say.

Well, you know I had a wondeful time in WDW. I'm thinking about restarting my counter to countdown what will hopefully be our next trip in '07. I just feel like its a little too soon to start the timer for some reason.

I see you're still working hard at the hospital as usual. Take care of yourself and I hope you enjoy Sunday at the fair!:D

Beth, you have such a positive attitude! I know that because of it you really will get that small gain off in no time.

I hope you have a great weekend and I'm sending prayers for you to feel rested and energized! :)

My work weejend is officially over, Thank You God!

Friday was so extremely slow. It is such a struggle when you are slow and so tired. I knew I was in trouble sleepwise when I didn't get a nap. The only way I managed to stay awake was to keep drinking and eating. I figured if I needed to use the bathroom every 15 minutes, I wouldn't be able to fall asleep. I did eat more than I should have, but I stopped and got legal treats. The scary thing is I don't remember how I got home. There is about 15 minutes that I zoned out. Not good.

I did manage to sleep on Saturday, and work was insanely busy. What a differance 8 hours can make. I never sat down, and I didn't get a break. I was too wired to sleep when I got home, and starving, so I ate the rest of the ice cream.   It was bad. I easily could have kept going, but I stopped. I had that feeling where nothing was going to satisfy me or fill me up. It coud have been a major binge. I made a cup of tea, and leafed through my new Pottery Barn catalog. I should have done that in the first place.

The plan was that Won would get up with Katie, so I could get some extra sleep. He did get up with her, and then he proceeded to fall sasleep on the couch. She promptly came up to get me. She had no one to play with. I told her to go wake up Daddy, but of copurse I couldn't go back to sleep. I told her since she woke me up, she needs to help with my workout. We went around the block for a total of 2.8 miles. She was on her bike. I know this is a safe time to go out because Won's Dad is an elder in the church, and he and PG MUST be there for services. No exceptions made.

We are going to a local festival today. The company dancers from Katie's school are performing, and she should see them. There is also a art fair, midway, and rides. Should be a good afternoon.

I'm off. I need a shower. Take care,
Beth

Hi Beth!

Don't worry about that small gain of yours, I'm sure you'll have it off in no time with the way you're exercising! You're doing great!

Some of my favorite times with my ds9, Chris, is when he goes on runs or walks with me like you did with Katie. He usually rollerblades or bikes, and it's fun to catch up and laugh and giggle. He also keeps me talking, which I swear burns more calories! It's so nice that you two could enjoy some peaceful time together. :)

Have a wonderful day at the festival, and you and your family are in my thoughts!

:wave2: Hi Beth,
At least the weekend is over right? My dh pulls the same thing when he "gets up" with DS. He passes out on the couch and then DS comes in my room "just to say hi  ". Happens pretty much everytime. Although, I don't work night shifts like you do so you NEED that extra sleep time.

I hope you had a nice afternoon at the fair. Have a wonderful Monday :sunny: !

Hi Beth, dont worry about the small weight gain, we all fall off the wagon sometimes!!!
Hope you have a great day at the festival - you deserve it.
Thankyou for your kind thoughts on my journal
Love Tracey XXX:wave2:

I'm glad that you get to keep your clippie! Sounds like you are on the road to success again. Amazing how life can throw something so small like food way off track isn't it?

Beth, I'm glad you made it through the weekend, sounds like it was a rough one. :faint:

I'm glad you and Katie had a nice workout together though, that had to brighten your spirits. :)

I hope you are doing well today.

Hi all,

Sorry I was MIA yesterday. Won and I both have colds. Of course this means he takes a day off and sleeps until 3PM. I still had to take Katie to school and swim lessons and grocery shopping. I made dinner for the 2 of them and went to bed, at 530 PM. I'm feeling a bit better, but am still wiped out. Like an idiot, I worked out yesterday, but I am taking a rest day.

I have been off program. The only thing that sounds in the least bit appetizing is peanut butter toast and tea. I'm going with it, but I won't weigh in this week. I'll wait until next week, and take the consequences.

Sunday was great fun, but I had started to get achy/headache by the end of the day. Katie was hounding the magician after his show. He made his doves dissappear, and she was sure they were in his box because it was the same size as the cage. She wanted him to open the box. We got a couple of help me looks fro him. It was quite amusing.

Today' schedule...
Dance lessons
lunch out
trip to target and meijers
clean the bathrooms
do journals tonight.

Have a great day ,
Beth

Awwwww, Beth, I hope you and Won are feeling better soon and I hope Katie doensn't fall ill herself.

Drink, drink, drink if you can and try to rest (I know, Kim--dream on!) :)

I'm feeling a bit better, but I am wiped out. I will definately be going to bed early. I just found out that Delphi isn't renewing their contract with DH's company. It won't affect his employment, but it was a really convenient position. He was `15 minutes from our house, 9-5, and could work from home. Some of the other assignments have people commuting 2 hours one way. I am really upset about this.

I haven't been good at all. I am retaining major water. I can barely wear my rings that are usually falling off me. I feel like a whale. Ugh. I have a dinner that is totally OP, and I am going to bed before I start snacking tonight,

We'll see if I work out tomorrow.

I had conveniently forgotten about this weekend. Won had agreed for us to come to a friend's condo for the weekend. They live about 3 hours up north. I don't want to go. I work Friday, so he decided that I can sleep in the car. Yeah, Katie will let me sleep. Then canoeing, bon fires, hiking, etc. We'll be sleeping on air mattresses because our friends don't have furniture yet. Have I mentioned I don't like the outdoors? My idea of roughing it is no room service or spa at a hotel. I love my husband, but this is not what I want to do with my 2nd to last weekend of working only Friday for the year.

Sorry to complain, but I am frustrated.

Beth

Beth:

How about using your cold as an excuse not to be heading up north this weekend? It does sound like fun - but not after you've worked a night shift!

I'm sorry that your DH is going to be reassigned (probably further from home). Delphi sending those jobs overseas?... Tech here still has not turned around. But my friend's fiance says its much worse in Silcon Valley California! (I do have to admit I like paying the mortgage on a $260,000 house instead of an $800,000 house.)

How is Katie enjoying dance classes. My nieces are loving theirs right now. Although Allysa wants to just dance and not do ballet stretching and excercises...

I do hope you feel better soon. Don't fret the scale...I'm blaming Fall.

Laurie:sunny:

BTW - those aero beds are really comfy - much better than regular air mattresses and way worth picking up at Target or Costco.

:wave2: Hi Beth,
I totally agree about the aero bed. It's much better than a regular air mattress. I hope tomorrow has you feeling better. Have a good night.

Actually that does sound like fun......if you had slept all night. Unless you have worked nights you just don't understand. Sounds like your husband means well though.......Play it by ear. If you don't feel well I would back out.

Sorry about your husband's loss of convenience. Maybe this will open up some new doors for him? I hope so.

Feel better.:D

Hi Beth,

How are you feeling? I hope that you and Won are both feeling better.::yes:: I'm sorry that Delphi didn't renew their contract with Won's company. Maybe this will open up new doors of opportunity that are even better.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday. Take good care of you!

Hi Beth! :wave2:

Oh, I'm so sorry about the no-contract renewal. I do hope Won is still able to keep his short commute and good hours.

I remember going to the Dr. for a sinus infection while I was originally losing my weight. I was bummed because even though I was sick and wasn't eating, the scale went up 2 pounds. Dr. explained that when you have certain types of illnesses, your body retains water as sort of a self-preservation thing, and that it also helps make all that mucousy, runny nose stuff to help flush out all the viruses/bacteria from your sinuses (sorry for the detail). Hopefully that water will flush itself right out when you're feeling better.

Boy, I hope you get some rest this weekend--I understand how you feel as I am not a very Outdoor Oriented girl myself! Could you "conveniently" start feeling "sicker"? (Not that I advocate fibbing to one's spouse...Gee I'd NEVER do that :hyper: )!

Feel better soon Beth, and I really hope you get some sleep and time for yourself!

Hi All,

I'm feeling much better, thanks. I still have the sinus thing going on, but it is certainly manageable. I don't feel right about playing sick to get out of this weekend. I am just going to have to suck it up.

We had issues at school today. There is a boy who is emi, and he has decided Katie is his girlfriend. Katie is still devoted to David from summer camp. Jason isn't happy, so he pushes her off the jungle gym at school. 2 hours in the ER and 8 stitches later, she is napping upstairs. It is just one thing after another this year. I am definately ready for 2005.

I fell off program again last night. It win't be an option tonight because we're going to Disney on Ice. I'm coming home and going to bed. My late night eating is undoing all my work at the gym. The bad thing is that I am totally aware of ot while I am eating, but I don't have the energy to stop. That makes no sense, but it is what I feel. It is more energy/struggle to not eat than to just give in right now. I will keep working at it.

I won't be able to hit many journals today. I have a project for work that has to be done by Friday, and this afternoon is the only time I have to do it. Then Disney on Ice.

I'll check in tomorrow afternoon.
Have a good one,
Beth

Hi Beth-
POOR KATIE!!! I am so sorry that happened to her. No wonder you were not OP. There is nothing more stressful than watching your children suffer. I am sure she will enjoy Disney On Ice, tonight. I am glad she will have a fun treat.
Glad you're feeling better. So sorry about DH's contract. I hope he gets a good assignment and does not have to spend half of his life commuting.
Write tomorrow and tell us about the ice show.
Mary:D

Aw, I am sorry Katie got hurt. I hope she feels better soon. Have fun at Disney on Ice.
