~Amanda

beth, i know i'm late to the party, but i want to join in anyway :p . congratulations on your lost poundage, your shiny new clippie, and making you april fool's challenge :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

you definitley deserve that girls night! coordinate those schedules and get out there and enjoy yourself!

you've sure got a busy day ahead of you. that dinner sounds absolutely fabulous! it's so great that you can have carby food for your guests, but OP alternatives for yourself! way to make it work :hyper:

of course, the important stuff: i agree with mostly everything you said about ai. i just can't jump on the fantasia wagon though. i will agree, she did well last night. but i just don't like her voice! personal taste i guess. the most important thing though remains - get that weasley out of there!!! :crazy2:

hope your busy day goes well and you have a wonderful evening :bounce:

:jumping3: :cool1: LOOK AT THAT NEW CLIPPIE!!!! :cool1: :jumping3:

Beth, congratulations on that beautiful clippie you're sporting!! Just look how far you've come!! You're doing a fabulous job even with all the stress you've had and surgery!!! Way to go, girlfriend!!

Your dinner sounds absolutely wonderful!! Your guests are very lucky people!! ::yes:: I hope they all appreciate you as much as we do!

Hope all turns out wonderful for your dinner party tonight! :sunny:

Well the dinner party was a complete success. I love it when non low carbers ask for my recipes. I also have to believe everyone, but me will gain a couple of pounds from the meal. The only problem was that they ate all my cheesecake.

Just watched AI on Tivo. I can't believe that the Weasley wasn't even in the bottom 3. Ugh, he totally knows that he doesn't belong there . Who votes for this guy. I can't believe that Latoya was in the bottom.

Recap of March:
On Program 28/31. That is 90% I'm happy with that considering the stress of the month.
Meds and water were 100% I need to keep this up.
Exercise I did 5 days a week all 4 weeks. I'm really proud of myself over this. I do need to increase the intensity of my workouts though.
Blessings counted 100%. This has become routine, and I will drop this from my goals.

Now April will be a problem. We go to Frankenmuth at the end of every April. DM, DF, and their anniversary are at the end of the month. We all get together for a reunion. I'll need to consider thisinto my goalss for the month. Think homemade pierogis, egg noodles, spaetzel, strudels. The entire city is devoted to carbs. I'll post my goals in the AM. I will also post my list of things I want to accomplish in my lifetime.

I've rambled enough. Have a good night.
Beth

LisaZ's journal made me think about my journey. I need to post this before I forget it.

At dinner tonight DH mentioned that I had lost 45#. He said this because he is proud of me for all my hard work. I actually cringed. Most of the time, I wish that I could do this journey in private. I feel that the more people aware that I'm trying to lose weight, the more pressure I feel. I keep thinking that they are waiting for me to fail. I hate feeling like that. I should be really proud of myself, but I keep making jokes when I get a compliment. I need to just say thank You. I might need to do a Stewart Smally affirmation in April.

Ugh, I'm off to bed. I should not get philosophical after 10PM.

Good night again
Beth

Hi Beth!

Thanks so much for stopping by my journal! First I want to give you a big {{{hug}}} and congratulations on your beautiful new 45 pound clippie! I had no idea we had lost the same amount of weight and both made our April 1 challenge goals! I am so proud of you!!!!!! :)

Second, I know how you feel about wanting your weight loss journey to be private. Okay, how private do we really want this to be bearing our souls on the internet (lol). But it's the real life people that see us everyday and make comments that can make us nervous of failure. You know what? I am confident with every fiber of my being that you and I will be successful and reach our goals. I love when you talk about counting our blessings each day. That's one I'll have to remember for myself.

One of my favorite signature tags on another board says "Feel the fear but do it anyway!" Don't you just love that? So no matter how unsettling it is for us to come out of our comfort zone and let go of this fat, we will do it!

I know when you go on vacation at the end of April that you will make good choices for you! Don't forget a cheat is not when you eat cake or cookies or in your case pierogis, egg noodles, spaetzel and strudels, it's when you make a commitment to yourself get healthy and break that promise. So you just have to decide what commitments you want to make for the month of April and keep them!

All my best wishes to you for a happy and sunny Thursday! :)

Thanks Lisa, I really am feeling much better today.

I have figured out how I am going to handle our family vacation. I called my DM. We're getting a 3 bedroom suite. I convinced her to upgrade to the one with the kitchenette. It will also help with Katies' allergies. I can make my own breakfasts, lunches and snacks. That will leave dinner out for 3 days. I will choose the best items I can without dessert. I will take a couple of pieces of cheesecake to keep in the fridge if I need a dessert. If I stick with this plan, I will consider myself cheat free. No more stress.

Goals for April:
1.) Meds/vitamins 30/30 100%
2.) 3 liters Water daily 30/30
3.) Exercise 5 times a week. I need to exercise 22/30 days.
4.) Eat OP 27/30 or 90%.

Things I want to accomplish in my life:
I want to see Australia.

I want to go to County Cork and visit the village where my grandparents fell in love. They were married 65 years, and I've never seen 2 people more in love.

I want to go to Alaska.

I want to climb a volcano in Hawaii.

I want to go white water rafting.

I want to learn to scuba dive.

I want to learn sign language.

I want to write a cookbook.

I want a 2 week vacation at WDW

Obviously, most of those take money. I'll have to wait on those. Won and I plan on spending our 20th anniversary in Australia. I hope to do Hawaii in 2007. I can only squeeze 1 week in WDW out of DH in 2005. I had signed up to do some travel nursing in Alaska when I found out I pregnant with Katie. I will probably do that when she is in college. Scuba diving starts when I reach goal.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Beth

:wave2: Hi Beth,
That dinner party sounded delicious ::yes:: ! I love how you have figured out how to enjoy your April vacation and still stay OP.

I have to laugh when you call John Stevens "the Weasley". The resemblance is striking :teeth: ! I do think it was funny that they kept showing close - ups of his face when they were doing the results for the bottom three. You could tell he should have been up there.

Hope you have a nice day :sunny: !

Hi Beth!
I'm glad that your dinner party went well. Did you by chance have any leftovers?;)

I love your list of things that you want to accomplish in your life. You know with the stress of day-to-day living in our lives, I think we forget to have dreams and then to go after them and make them accomplishments. Thanks for the reminder, Beth!

I hope you have a wonderful day today!

Tracy :wave2:

P.S. On my way to sending you a PM....:teeth:

Hi Beth!! Glad you are feeling better today. Here is a different twist to look at this public weight loss. If you are overweight and people see you eating anything and everything, I feel akward with that. I would rather they know I am really trying to loose the pounds, even if it takes a really long time or I have some road bumps. At least they know I'm trying and that I DO care about my health and my image. Make sense? That's how I feel....
AI- okay, Amy wasn't great, but she certainly was MUCH better than Weasley or Camille! if anyone else decent goes before one of those 2, I may have to give up watching this program! I mean, come on!! The poor kid was crying because he KNOWS he is not in these peoples league. He probably wants out himself at this point. I felt sorry for him because he was feeling so guilty!

Excellent job on your March goals! I am REALLY impressed with your accomplishments!:earseek: And with all the stress you had this month too! WTG!::yes::
Have a great day! Hope you have some :sunny: !

I hope everyone is doing well.

Beth

Good deal for yesterday!

Just checking in to say :wave2: and wish you a great weekend!!!

Beth, I love your list of things you want to do in life! When I made the suggestion to you, I started a list but never finished it - I think I will!! ::yes:: At least you can start dreaming about those things, looking for books about them, etc.

You did so well with your March goals! :Pinkbounc Your April goals look great and I'm impressed that you found a way to manage your food on vacation that will let you enjoy some leeway without stress!

You continue to be an inspiration to me, Beth! I hope your test goes well and that you have a good weekend! Are you working much this weekend??

Racap of April 2nd:
1.)Meds 2/2. 100%
2.) Water 3.5l 2/2. 100%
3.) Exercise 2 miles at 4mph on DM's treaddie. 2/2 100%
4.) Ate op 2/2 100%

I dropped Katie off with my parents yesterday. I do realize how lucky I am to have my parents to help me with Katie. She is all excited because my mom is taking care of some baby bunnies. Their mama was killed by a hawk. Katie is really working the pet angle. Not going to happen. DH and I have animal allergies. I digress as usual. I did 2 miles on the treadmill. I would really love to have one at my house, but we don't have the space or $. Oh well. I worked a 8 hour afternoon shift. What a breeze. I do 12 hours tonight followed bu a 6 hour class/test. I had my check up yesterday as well. Everything looks good, so I headed to Curves this AM. It is amazing how weak I feel. It has only been 2 weeks. I am hoping to go for a walk this afternoon before work. Breakfast was 2 pieces of cheese and coffee. 1 liter so far.

I need to study , so I have to get away from the computer. I will just get sucked into the Journals, if I visit even 1. I need to prioritize. If I pass this class I get a $500 bonus. That's incentive. Please know that I am thinking of all of you, and sending:goodvibes your way.

:sunny:
Beth

:wave2: Hi Beth,
Sending some pixie dust your way for that test :wizard: . I agree, $500 is a great incentive :D !

My ds is the same way about wanting a pet but I am allergic to anything with fur. I finally got him a betta fish a couple of weeks ago but that's my limit ;) .

So happy to hear you were able to return to Curves today. I'm sure that felt great.

Hope you have a great weekend :sunny: !

Hey Beth - the heck with posting! Study instead and grab that $500!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :teeth:
Pets - oh what a quandry all parents go through. I have a cat, hermit crabs and sea monkeys. With your allergies, may I suggest the Hermit Crabs? They are very easy to take care of and can be entertaining. If you put them in a sink of warm water, they come out of their shell and climb around. Then they stay active for awhile after that too. All I have to do is give them water every other day and food maybe twice a week. No smell, no hair, no problem!:teeth:
So glad you got a good check-up and returned to Curves, Just take it slow and don't overdo!:earseek: I know your excited to be back, but you don't want an injury that will slow you down!!
Have a great day today Beth! :sunny:

I"M BACK!

The jury is stil out as to wether I'm alive. I'm barely functioning. I'll let you know when I've had my second cup of coffee.

The weekend was horrible. I definately passed the test. It will only take 3 months to get my bonus. I stayed OP despite the stress. I had 45 minutes between work and the test, so I did some power walking. I would have stressed myself out reviewing otherwise. The testing took 6.5 hours. After being at the hospital for 18 hours I came out to my car anf found a flat tire. Motor club said 2 hours, I said forget and changed my tire myself. I ripped a hole in my new scrub pants too. Came home collapsed for 3 hours. Made dinner, put Katie to bed, and caought up with DH. Ended up talking until 11. At this point I had gone into "Midnight Mode". This is where I'm awake despite how exhausted I am. I finally fell asleep at 2AM, up at 7AM.

I'm done complaining. We figured out what to do for DD's bday. We don't want to do a kids party this year. We'll do a blow out for her 5th. We are going to take Katie to Great Bear lodge and Cedar Point for her Bday in May. I just need to touch base with my friend. I need to know when Chloe's bday party will be, so Katie won't miss that party. Their bday's are just 5 days apart.

Recap of weekend:
1.)Meds 4/4 100%
2.) Water 4/4 100%
3.) Exercise 4/4 100%
4.) Food 4/4 100%

The house is a disaster. I can't log back onto WISH until it is clean. I'll finish up journals then. I'm headed to Curves this afternoon. Early night tonight. This novel is done.

have a good Monday.
Beth

Beth, I'm so glad to hear your test went well. Bravo to you for changing that flat - sorry you had to go through that hassle after such a long shift and ruin a nice new pair of scrub pants. :(

I truly admire all you do to be able to be home with Katie while DH is working! She's a very lucky girl to have a Mom & Dad like you and Won!

I hope you find time for a nap this afternoon! ::yes::

Beth - for you after that awful weekend!! I sure hope today goes much smoother for you.
I think the plan for Katies Bday is perfect!!::yes:: It will give you all some quality family time, a little relaxation for you and not all the hassles of planning a kids party!! Enjoy!
You are doing great on your goals! Keep up the good work!
Hope you have a beautiful Monday! :sunny:
