Right about now I am stressing over MNSSHP. I thought I had everything planned. We are (were?) going Oct. 4th - 12th, and planning to get tickets for the 1st party on the 10th. Then they retracted the dates, and now it seems that they MAY drop some of them:
I called today and talked to a CM, she said there have been lots of calls but she is being told to say due to decreased attendance, the tickets will be issued in September??? When they decide how many nights would make it profitable.
How can people plan their vacations with only one month notice?!?!?!?!?!?
I am thinking that if they do drop any dates, the 10th might likely be the first one to go, as it is the earliest and they would more likely keep the ones closer to Halloween. Well, we won't be there for any of the other dates! Now I'm wondering if I should go the following week instead, where there is a greater chance of getting to MNSSHP. The problem is the following week we would be there Sat., Sun. and Mon. of Columbus Day weekend! I have already booked the hotel and bought our park tickets, and am waiting to pounce on a good airfare. This really throws a monkey wrench in things! What does everyone think?

Don't stress. As we all know, the CMs on the other line don't know everything.

Last year we knew the dates by the end of April - yes, I know that's coming up. Had dates already been announced? I must have missed that if they did.

I think a party on the 10th may not happen anyway, that seems awfully early in the month for it to start, but I fully admit to not having paid attention to how early the start.

I don't think you'll have to wait till September, but you may have to wait longer than next week. Just have to exercise those patience muscles that we all hate to use.

I feel the same way. We are taking a Disney Cruise from Oct. 11-18. We are arriving on Oct. 10 so that day would be perfect. We are leaving on Oct. 21 but are planning trips to SeaWorld and Universal. Hopefully, we'll still be able to go since this is our first time going to MNSSHP.

I think the 10th is going to be too early for the MNSSHP anyway. I believe the earliest they have had it in the last two years was around the 15th. What I do is book a room for three weeks right in the middle of October. When the MNSSHP dates come out I trim back the number of my days to fit the party I want to attend. Right now I have the Poly booked for 10/12-10/25. I only want to be there for 10 days so I will pick the party I want to attend and then cancel my extra days I have booked. It doesn't cost any more to do that and you still only need the one nights deposit.

I'm waiting for dates here as well. although I wouldn't say I am "stessing" about it. It is still quite a ways away from Halloween, even though Disney released the dates in April last year. We all know that things aren't exactly "typical" any more.

We went to the earliest date for the MNSSHP last year, it was on October 11,I think. I remember that it was the first year they offered it so early. JMHO, but I don't know that they would cancel that date because of the crowds for the Columbus Day holiday weekend.

For me, the price of airfare is the biggest issue. I have a 2 week window for our trip due to school schedule. If the MNSSHP is happening, great...if not, then we'll have a little extra money to spend on something else. I am also torn between going to MNSSHP and actually being at WDW on my daughter's birthday. Anna turns 2 on October 1, and we can't do her birthday and the party. I know she won't care one way or the other, but it is important to me, LOL

MrsMud I am totally with you on this one...we too planned our next trip around those elusive dates that were posted for about 24 hours before being retracted...I saw that they were "official dates" and made our plans. We are a little flexible with our time so could tweak our dates a little if they would just give us the dates!!!!

I don't understand because it being a hard ticket event they are going to make money on the nights anyway - it should be able to support the extra hours. It seems like they would want to have extra nights if attendance is a bit low as they are surely to attract locals in for the nights and get extra money from all those already staying on site to get into the event!!

I watch this board every day just hoping that the dates are released soon. Now that the AP rates have come out maybe we should start a MNSSHP date watch thread:p

Add me to the list of who's waiting for those dates!!! We'll be there Oct 13-18, and it will be our first MNSSHP! (We've been to MVMCP three times and love it!!)

Me too!! Can't wait for those dates to be posted. Even if the tickets don't go on sale until September, I hope we see the scheduled dates WAAAY before then!!

We'll be there 16-26 October, lots of time to catch one MNSSHP, but it will be nice to know the date so we can plan around it.
