We have a guaranteed week at GFV in a LV studio which lands on Thanksgiving week most years, including next year. For next year, however, we want to opt out of our studio and book a 1 bdrm instead. I'll be calling first thing that morning on my 11 month window, but I'm having slight paranoia thinking we'll opt out of our guaranteed week and then there won't be any 1bdrms left and we'll also lose the studio. Hahaha Please tell me things are not going to move that fast, especially since I need to call instead of doing it online.

For the future and others reading, if you can get ahead enough with the points, one can book with points then opt out of the guaranteed room, pocketing the additional 10% of the points or even more if you did standard view studio. I'm sure that'll be difficult going from a studio to a 1 BR though unless one has other points which would likely need to also be VGF points.

VGF 1BRs are typically the second to fill at VGF after the studios. Thus far, the 1BRs have not had an issue of filling exactly 11 months out for Thanksgiving time. For 2016, they were still open for that entire week on Jan 4, 2016. They did disappear 11 months out right at 8 a.m. for a couple days in the first week of Dec 2016, DVC's highest demand week of the year, but thus far that week has been the only time of year the 1BRs have been at risk at 11 months out.

How fast do the 2br standard views fill at VGF for week after thanksgiving (sat to fri)?

The dedicated 2BRs, both standard and lake view were open at 10 months out for Thanksgiving time 2016. I did not check on those again until 7 months out by which time they were each missing 5 nights of the week, the Sun and the Tues through Fri.

If you are asking about lock-off 2BRs, those go quickly at 11 months out because of studio reservations.
