Welcome to my world. My kids think I sit in front of a computer and DIS all day long. They have no understanding of what I do, even when I explain it to them.

DH is a carpenter. They can see and understand exactly what he does - so they think he is the only one who actually works.

It's probably too late, but it would be neat to assign all the kids in the class a position in your company and a task, and you do what you do to help them be able to do their jobs. - probably too involved, though.

Hope you have a great time. I am sure you will make your DD proud.

Kids don't get it sometimes. DS asked me what I did all day besides answer the phone and talk to upset people. That is just one of many things I do in my fairly complicated day but it's so hard to explain!

And from all us sahm's, thank you for showing up in a power suit and showing our daughters that it's not just the daddies who can have a corporate career. Just because I've chosen the position I'm in doesn't mean I want DD to think that's her only option as a woman Who knows who you will inspire today?

When I was 6, you know what I wanted to be?

A nurse.

Know why I wanted to be a nurse?

Not because I wanted to help people.

Not because I really knew what the job was about.

Because on our 'jobs' day, it was the only book with a picture of a woman on the front. I thought, other than being a mummy, that was the only job a woman could do.*

I don't care if it's admin, it shows kids of both genders an option that's available to them. It helps a business, helps make the modern world go round.

*BTW, this wasn't in the 1950s or whenever. I'm 23. This was 1991.
