I have a 2.5 yr old mini dachshund. She is definitely not getting enough exercise - it's FREEZING here! However, she's very stressed out - barking at any / every little noise and generally high-strung. This doesn't happen as much when she's getting lots of walks but she's always been a bit high-strung.

Have you tried any herbal remedies that helped to calm your dog?

I haven't had to use any herbal remedies, but I wanted to let you know about a friend's website. It's www.cybercanine.com. She has a liquid calm massage oil that may help your pup. I know she would be happy to answer any of your questions before you order. If you do email her, please let her know that I sent you. Sevi's products are wonderful, and she's a great lady.

how could a dog be stressed out, cant seem to catch his tail

Bach's Rescue Remedy might help. It's a homeopathic stress-reducer and might help her relax a bit. Works on me, anyway, and the vet prescribed it for my mom's Shih Tzu a while back.

And, you might try playing with her more, too. Maybe get a laser pointer and have her chase it up and down the hall?

Thanks, all! I think I'll take her to the pet store tonight and walk the aisles for a while just to give her some exercise, while I look for Rescue Remedy and a new ball for games of fetch!

If anyone else has any other ideas, feel free to chime in!
