Strategy to keep dry on Kali River Rapids?

Don’t ride?

There is no way to know whether you will end up in a seat that gets the biggest splash. Consider wearing clothes and shoes that would dry relatively quickly, or bring a change of clothes and shoes. You can utilize the free lockers next to the ride to store them and anything else that you need to keep dry (like cell phones and cameras).

Wear a poncho. Put on the hood and secure it around your neck. Lift your feet off the ground and rest them on the bar. Tuck the poncho around your feet.
Thanks! My husband thinks he remembers a sealed container in the middle of each raft for storing bags during the ride. He hasn't ridden it in many years, though.

Thanks for your response. I am trying to come up with a way to stay dry, and not carry clothes inti the park. I would consider taking flip flops, though.

I don't think the sealed container exists any longer. Some of us in our party do change into flip flops.

We change our shoes to flip flops and sometimes Bring a change of clothes. There are lockers nearby you can leave your stuff in.

Be on the ride with me since I’m always the one getting soaked. ;)

I wear dry fit clothing since it dries quickly. We put everything in a locker (and I think they are free). Bring a change of socks and a towel. They sell towels for about $20 near the ride and I now own 3.

I can’t imagine switching to flip flops because the path to the ride is very uneven. And you must wear shoes (no barefoot).

Those aren't there anymore.

Yep, they have lockers nearby that are free for 2 hours. It's an electronic lock so it knows if you've come back within the 2 hour time frame.

We only stay in AK for half a day on early morning EMH days so it's the last attraction we ride before making our way back to the car soaking wet after lunch. I find the ride very tame, it's watching others get soaked that adds the fun IMHO.

I wear a poncho on top and then put a poncho on through my feet for the bottom. I stay nice and dry, look ridiculous but I am dry!

Do not eat in an air conditioned restaurant after Kali River
We did an ADR at Rain Forrest and froze. Still had wet undies.

I think getting wet on Kali works like getting wet on Splash, Frozen, and Pirates with the new boats. You're either lucky or you're not. Sometimes you walk away relatively unscathed and other times you think to yourself why or how did that just happen?!
