Strategy for this weekend: input wanted :)

Anyone want to check out my strategy?

Just my 14 yo son and I, so easier to move about the parks. We have 1 day at DCA on Saturday and 1 day at DL Sunday. We have LL with our tickets.
We plan to:
*rope drop
*stay all day with no hotel break (that's how we roll!)
*pre-planning which rides he wants to do for sure, plus which can skip and what is try to ride more than once
*mobile order almost all food

We will try to do World of Color in DCA, maybe second show
Likely watch PTN and Fireworks at DL

So he loves thrill rides but we also want to do all the FL rides once. For DL, I am torn on what to prioritize. Any LL ride that he wants to do 1 time, we will just watch LL and do it accordingly. But the ones he wants to do 2x, (SM, BTMR, Indie, and Matterhorn) should we aim to go there? I was originally thinking all FL rides first, then hitting the toon town rides, then starting the mountains etc.

For CA, I'm less concerned but thinking the plan is best to start at Guardians, then doing the small Carsland rides, and heading to incredicoaster and Toy story etc...?

Any other suggestions from those experienced would be great!

If you want to ride ones like Space Mountain or Big Thunder twice then I would recommend picking one of those as your rope drop first ride. Before 10 am, you can get most of the rides you want to do twice as walk-ons. You then have the LL to use for later when the parks get busier but Sundays are pretty nice at DLR. What Florida rides are you thinking of? I feel like most of the duplicate rides are not ones that are difficult to just ride standby most of the day.

If it were me, I would go Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Indy, Big Thunder and then do the rest. Since you're in Frontierland and close to New Orleans Square, you can then hit Pirates and Haunted Mansion. That's actually what I plan on doing with DD17 when we go on August 3rd.

CA, your plan makes sense though I'd roll over to Incredicoaster as soon as you can since I feel that's going to get really busy this weekend since the ride is going down on Monday.

If you don't do FL first, keep in mind that very few rides in FL have LL -- lines there will start building quickly and will often stay at 30+ minutes all day. It will be difficult for you to do "all the rides in FL" if you don't rope drop FL, especially if you are trying to ride other things twice. Peter Pan will definitely be busy, often a 45 minute wait, from the minute the park opens. Sometimes the lines start to dwindle after 10 PM when the younger kids leave. Keep in mind that portions of FL will be closed before/during fireworks.

We always do FL first due to lack of LL, but my daughters love FL and it's a priority for them. There are 13 attractions in FL, so maybe you don't actually want to do all of them? Casey Jr and Storybook Land Canal Boats are basically the same thing, just one is on the water and one is in a train.

If you find yourself running short on time, fireworks is usually a great time to get some things done because the crowds will be watching fireworks. We have a tradition of riding Pirates during fireworks for that reason.

Ah. I wouldn't change the plan I outlined above. Fantasyland doesn't get super packed until after 11am on Sundays. If you can do the big thrill rides first then head to Fantasyland, you'll still have less than 15 minute waits for each except Peter Pan. There's no way around Peter Pan's queue being slow loading.

If you want to ride the LL rides more than once, I still think rope dropping Space Mountain is a good start and then hitting all the other big LL rides (Indy, Matterhorn, Big Thunder) first is a better move.

yes, Peter Pan...a favorite but always a time eater. I've taken to getting in line last thing of the night and it makes for a pleasant end of night experience to enjoy the nostalgia and then wander down a near empty Main Street on our way out of the park.

I'd save FL for later, since you son is older you can stay out later than the little kiddos and the lines will be shorter in the evening.
