Strategy for MVMCP

I am aware that these special events are super crowded. I have never been to this party before and this year am going more than once luckily. Once I will be solo and once will be with a friend.
I am not looking to do any rides or meet and greets. Neither my friend nor I need to do this at the parties.
I really want to get a good spot for the parade(s) and any additional shows. I might want to grab a CS meal and a cocoa or whatever else they give out.
Has anyone got any suggestions of strategies to make the most of what's going on so that I can make a bit of a plan?

They are not necessarily super crowded. If you go on a week day it should be fine.
There are usually 2 of everything(early/late): parades, castle show, and fireworks. (Please correct me if I'm wrong). There is special merchandise for sale during the party as well.

The parade can be easily viewed in Frontierland through Liberty Square. Much less crowded than Main St. Any show at the castle is best seen from in front, a little ways back. The bridge to Tomorrowland is pretty good for fireworks.

Although other spots are less crowded, you should consider getting a spot on Main Street for the parade- just camp out pretty early. They have snow falling there- and this is one of your priorities- so a minimum of an hour before the parade starts (for the early one) stake you claim. It's a long time to wait- but is a different experience than the rest of the parade route. If you can stay up later- go to the second one, much less crowded.

I wouldn't use up party time at a meal. For one thing, not all the CS restaurants are open during the parties, and the ones that are are going to be crowded. Also, that means you're going to be using up at least 45 minutes (and definitely more if the restaurant is crowded) of party time sitting in a restaurant. You can enter the MK as early as 4:00 with just a party ticket, so I would eat between then and the start of the party, or just eat at your resort before heading out to the party.
