strategy for getting back to contemporary after "fantasmic"?

Personally I think that your best bet is going to be Disney Transportation...a bus directly from MGM.

I'd take the bus too, but I wouldn't run out with the crowds immediately after Fantasmic is over. Go shopping, grab a drink or sit on a bench for 20 minutes or so. Then leisurely walk to the bus stop and get right on your bus with no wait in line.

Another vote for the bus. We've tried all of the options at MGM. Taking your car is really only good if you're leaving before the park closes, and the boats are only efficient if you're staying at one of the boat resorts (BW, BC/YC, S/D).
