Strategy during Food & Wine Festival

Myself and DS 11 will be in WDW the day that the F&W Festival begins. We do not need to attend this, but I was wondering about crowds and any suggestions for other parks at this time. Is the day before it opens a good day to go to Epcot?

I wouldn't choose to go on the 1st day of the Food and Wine Festival - went once, not thinking that it WAS the 1st day and found it quite crowded. We could still walk around but just barely! Don't know about the day before but it almost has to be less crowded!

We went on a Sunday and there was hardly anyone there. Really the booths are pretty spread out, so if you want to get something you can - but you don't HAVE to do anything outside the regular World Showcase stuff.

The rest of the park wasn't affected, when we were there.

Primarily you'll find more crowds on weekends and Friday/Saturday nights as the locals come over, but the rest of the time shouldn't be too bad.
