slightly random question here!

i know that if i take a battery charger over to the states it takes about twice as long to charge as the voltage over there is lower than over here.
if i take a cheap toaster and a adapter plug over there, would it be likely to work (albeit it a slow slower to toast!!)
we'll probably be going on the dining plan, and dont want to waste credits on breakfast so was thinking of toast and pop tarts for brekkie.

would this work?!?!

a normal adaptor wouldn't do, you would need a voltage convertor too.
If you really want to use a toaster, it would probably be easier just to go buy one at walmart, they have some for only $15

You would need to check the voltage on the plug - if it says 100-240v then it will work without any need for a voltage converter. If it only says 240v then it would need a converter. Which weigh a ton and it would take a significant chunk of your luggage allowance.

we're not hiring a car, so going offsite unfortunately isnt an option.
wouldnt a normal adapter plug work? i'm not talking of needing a step up converter, i was just wondering if it'd work at all (albeit slower and less powerfully to toast stuff)

it would probably only make your toast luke warm, wouldn't make toast.
you could order one from amazon.com and have it delivered to your hotel. we've done this before (not with a toaster though, but same principle)

Just checked our toaster, 230v only. Will not work in US at all without a converter. totally not worth it.
If you are not going offsite at all I would either get one delivered to room or do without toasting.

honestly on the DDP you will be so full you wont want breakfast
Paaulh

and if you do want to heat up a poptart just head to food court and use there toatsers in there.if you have a mug have a coffee as well.tou dont have to ask to use them.MIL would buy a loaf and walk down every mornning to do her toast:thumbsup2

can you use the toasters in the food court for your own stuff then? they dont mind?

I'm sure that the resort foodcourts have toasters for public use - POR certainly did :)
