Strange things you see at theme parks...

Fresh corn (in shucks) is currently 6 ears for $2 at Publix. This thread has inspired me to have some corn for dinner tonight.

I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!:rotfl2: It is a RIOT!!

Can anyone explain the canned corn story?? Or was it just that people started eating canned corn in the park??

Sorry I work in Midtown Manhattan...it takes a LOT to say it was a strange or weird story...but I love to read about them!!!

I was sitting by myself at the Sleepy Hollow (?) snack spot in Magic Kingdom eating a funnel cake. A slightly grumpy family sat down at the table next to me.

The mom and dad were arguing about something and the mom proceeded to blow the powdered sugar from the funnel cake all over the dad (and me too;)) and stormed off.:rotfl2:

That's classic!! LOVE IT! (well besides you getting a sugar bath too!) :rotfl2:

OMG i have been having powdered sugar wars like that with my nieces and nephews for decades at the local boarwalk with zeppolis on easter!!! i always make sure to wear the type of jacket where the powdered sugar doesnt stick and most of the times the kids are wearing dark t-shirts!!! :rotfl2:

you would think that me getting them every year their entire life they would be on the lookout and wear white shirts!

Just curious...by saying they were a large family...

are you saying they were a large family in a Duggar sort of way...or a large family in a Roseanne Arnold sort of way?

I'm assuming you meant that the people eating corn consisted of a mom, dad, and 4 or 5 kids or more, with possible grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

I've never seen anyone eat anything stranger than a bologna sandwich.

2010...EPCOT...Test Track line. An Asian woman sitting near us eating A RAW EAR OF CORN with a bag of more corn in her lap. One of the strangest things I've seen in WDW! We joke about it all the time.

The great Corn People Thread was unfortunately lost forever in a server migration. It is probably the most legendarily funny thread that ever happened here, as it began to snowball wildly with posters trying to outdo one another with suggestions for odd canned things to eat in the parks. I think that it eventually ran for over 100 pages.

As the story went, a large family (Mom, Dad and several kids) were sitting in front of City Hall at the MK sharing a large can of niblets; they were passing the can and spoon from person to person. There was a lot of speculation that they might have been from overseas, presumably from some country where room-temp canned corn is an unusual treat. (The funny thing about that is that when I mentioned that in a later "whatever happened to the canned corn thread" discussion, a frequent poster from Iceland chimed in to say that Icelandic folks do sometimes eat room temp canned corn -- but not pass it from hand to hand in a theme park!) There was also speculation that it was a case of budget-lunching taken right round the bend.

This new corn sighting is not quite the same caliber of funny -- but if they were SHARING the ear of corn, then we would have something. ;)

I would love to see a creative family re-create the famous canned corn scene and post a photo here! popcorn::
