Ok...I see posts about people asking about takeout at sit-down restaurants, but my question is probably a bit strange. (or probalby so obvious,. that I will just look dumb!!!!)
Do counter service restaurants do take out? Meaning...do they have bags and covers for all of the platters, so that we can take them back to our room and warm up in our microwave later/ I know I could do that at a sit-down, but can I at a counter service?

Most CS places have bags or boxes, you just have to ask because they won't automatically offer them to you. :thumbsup2

I'll be doing this on the second night...going to Pepper Market or somewhere nearby and taking the food back to AKL...and then dining with the animals on the balcony!!

We haven't had very good luck with this. I should note that we've never intentionally purchased meals at CS with the intent to take them with us but especially on the dining plan (trying to use up those CS credits) and also when it was EMH night and we knew our resort food court would be closed by the time we returned- when trying to take home whatever we haven't eaten or an extra meal we'd purchased to take with us- we haven't had good luck with having "adequate" take out materials.

Meaning like we're given another plate to put over the plate of food and/or a sack to put it in- but it's not a very good way of transporting food back (especially on a bus). We haven't found one yet that had like actual TAKE OUT materials like a plate that closes with a lid or anything of that nature. Just like another plate to put over it or a sack to put it in. Can be a mess by the time you return to the room- a few times just a total mess tossed in the trash either before we get on the bus or after we get off of it. Unedible at that point. :( Wishing you luck though!

I guess the main counter service restaurant I was wondering about is Flame Tree barbecue. Our plans for that day were to go to Donalds Breakfastasaurus, than ride Expedition Everest and the Kali river Rapids....and than leave to spend the day at our resort pool. I would love to stop at Flame Tree barbecue, get our food for later, and take it back with us to our room and warm up for either a late lunch or dinner at the resort.

anyone know if this can be done?

this may be a little crazy but I have had gastric bypass and I can't eat much at a time...but get hungry more often. I am stuffing a few ziplocs in my bag so I can haul my half a sammich around for later. Like I said, maybe nuts but I'm not buy 3 lunches a day and tossing half of more of each of them.
