Strange question about the remodeled DLH

Hi everyone! I have what may be considered a strange question by some about the DLH. DBF and I stayed there on our last trip to DLR back in 2009, but we're staying in the newly renovated hotel for the first time in January 2012. I'm sure the rooms all have A/C and heat, but do they also have a fan-only mode? I'm asking because my bf and I both need white noise to sleep. We stayed in a hotel on our vacation last year (not DLR) where we couldn't sleep at all the first night because we couldn't find the fan mode in the room, and we never recovered from the sleep deprivation the whole trip. We'd like to avoid bringing our white noise machine if possible because it will take up a lot of space. Any help at all would be appreciated! TIA!

I don't know the answer to your question but if you have an iPhone (or Android) you could download a white noise app, I have one for my son it works great. Even if you have an ipod you could download white noise, I would skip taking the machine with me at all costs, way too much work, IMO.

Thanks for your response! Neither me nor my boyfriend has an iPhone or Android (at least not yet). My bf has an old iPod Touch, but it's so old that it doesn't have external speakers (he got it free with his Mac Book a few years ago). It's okay though, I'll just call the hotel and ask. I didn't even think of doing that until after I posted this thread! It really shouldn't be a problem, I just worry way too much.

Thanks again!

I have turned on the bathroom light/fan in some hotels to block out outside noise. But, now some of the bathroom fans are so quiet they don't help. :tink:

I just stayed at the DLH in Oct (beautiful rooms by the way) and I think that the thermostat is on a motion sensor because it would switch off at night and get really hot in the room. I have seen instructions online for a way to override the thermostat in the DVC units at WDW, but don't know if they would work on the ones at DLH. We were only there two nights so I never had a chance to try the override trick; I would just wave a pillow around on the air when I woke up hot, and that seemed to work.

Thanks. I don't remember if the old bathrooms had fans in them, but if there are fans in the new bathrooms and not on the thermostat, we could try that and hope that it works.

Wow, that actually sounds quite annoying. I would hate to keep waking up and having to move to activate the sensor! I wonder if this applies to the A/C and heat only, or if it also applies to the fan mode? We're going in January so we don't plan on using the A/C and we wouldn't use the heater at night because we want something that won't keep turning on and off. Thanks for your input!
