Ok ladies, please help me out here.

Before I had DD, I was a 34B. Never was professionally measured, but I was comfortable in that size.

After DD, all is still the same except my cup size seems a bit smaller (sniff, sniff). My problem is that everyday my back kills me. It's like my bra strap is too tight or something. Once I take my bra off, I'm feeling good again.

So yesterday I go to get measured and she says, "Oh, gee. We don't have anything this small. You are a 30-32, B or C cup". (See I'm quite narrow around the chest, but have normal sized ****s).

I told her that 34 is hurting me, and I'm wearing it on the last hook, so no way will a 32 work.

She shurgs her shoulders and walks off and I end up trying some bras on. I buy a 34B (cup size seems to work) and get a wireless, hoping that is part of the problem.

Just put the bra on and it's already giving me some issues.

So what is my problem? Any guesses?

I would go to a different store, get remeasured, and then if they don't have the size you need, keep going. No use spending money on something that is not quite right. Do you have a Nordstrom's near you? I've heard they have wonderful customer service, as well as a great selection of sizes. However, since they are SO expensive there, I would probably just buy one, and then ourchase others elsewhere.

Good Luck!

JCPenney's is another store that has Bra fitter, and will actually HELP you pick out a bra.:thumbsup2

Vette- my ribcage expanded BIG time when I was pregnant- and I am just now getting back into my previous bra band size. It's like it has taken a while for my ribs to go back to the right spot- but I seriously had to go up like 2 band sizes for a while because my old size wasn't quite right!

I carried V really high, also, so I just bought bra extenders and used those (instead of buying all new bras).

I'd go elsewhere and get measured again. What did she mean you are a 32 B or C?????? It's one or the other.

Generally, when the band of the bra feels tight, it means you need a bigger band size (the number part of your bra size...32, 34 etc.). The band size is the circumference of your "trunk"...chest around the sides and the back. You can basically take a tape measure and get your band size. The cup size is the size of the actual breast itself. Basically, your whole breast should fit inside the cup, without a lot of "spillage" out of the sides or top, unless that's the "look" you're going for! ;)

Other things I look at when a bra is uncomfortable...the length of the straps...maybe they are too short and therefore pulling the band up to a spot where it's not supposed to sit...ie-too high under the breasts...the band should sit on your chest wall, it shouldn't be sitting on the bottom sideof your breasts, if you know what I mean. Get wireless bras. Look at the material inside the band...the part that is actually going to be up against your skin. Is it rough or smoothe? If it's elastic, is the covering of the elastic wearing away, so maybe it's the elastic irritating you? I'd also try different manufacturers and see whose bras feel best. I have a large chest and I find Playtex bras are the most comfortable...I knwo everyone wants Vicki's Secret etc., but they just don't do it for my girls!

I was reading your post wrong. I read before I had DD....Double D's:rotfl: I was like WTH did this woman do to herself:scared1:

I don't have a measuring tape around here, but I do know that I am somewhere in the 30-32 inch range for my chest. She said I was like a B 1/2 cup although a B seems to be just fine. No spillage, no extra room either.

But a 32 would not feel good. I feel like I need to go up, now down! But obviously I'm measuring 32. That's why I'm so confused!

I will go someplace else for sure. The lady is just a dept store gal who works in the bra section, but it's the only store within 70 minutes of me. It's fun living in the boonies!

Thanks for the other advice!

Also keep in mind that each brand is going to fit differently, cup sizes are not consistent AND everyone likes their bras to fit differently. A fitting is really a guide, it isn't the be all and end all to sizes. Just because a 34B in a Bali bra fits you great doesn't mean that a 34B in an Olga is going to fit you too. If the bra fitter said you measure out at a 32 you probably are a 32 BUT that doesn't mean you can't wear a 34 if you like them more loose. Besides that, 32 anything is REALLY hard to find.

I was going to say the same thing. Mine never went back to the size it was before I had my twins

Mine did too. In fact, everything got bigger! Ahh, those were the days. :rotfl:

I did too! :rotfl2: Until you posted, I still didn't know DD didn't mean Double Ds in this case. :rotfl: I thought, the OP left some major detail out of the story.
