I've asked this 3 times on various Trick-or-Treat Party threads but have not gotten an answer. Does anyone know whether or not you can bring your candy haul in your carry-on (we're flying SW, if it matters)? I don't want to leave all my candy behind but I'd rather not check it since we just bring backpacks.

I was just looking into what can be brought onto an airplane myself! Here's the website with the regulations

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

It doesn't mention anything about candy specifically, but I believe so long as it's not LIQUID, you're fine.

On a side note - you're not allowed to take a sno-globe on the plane in your carry on items, even with documentation. I thought that was a bit strange. :goodvibes

I would guess you'll be fine taking candy on board, if in doubt contact your airline and ask them. :)

I think it will be fine. There are many airports that have candy stores as part of the airport shopping experience. I agree with the previous poster that all you need to make sure is that it is not liquid. Happy TOTing!!!

It is only liquids, gels and similar items that are not allowed thru the check point. Candy, as is any food, is fine unless it fits the liquid, gel description. :thumbsup2

Yahoo!! Thanks, everyone! I'm going with my adult dd-- my 3 little ones (9, 6, and 6) are staying behind with Daddy. Hopefully it will soften the blow a little if I bring them back some treats. I have to activate my Costco AP before Oct 31st so I'm going for 1 night and taking the opportunity to attend my first ToT party. DH said no to taking the whole fam . I'm the only one that gets to renew my AP because...well, because I just have to have it, that's all, and it's not a negotiable thing :upsidedow

:rotfl: I thought you meant can you go trick or treating @ the TOT party with a rolling carry-on luggage suitcase in tow! :rotfl2: (Until I read your post, that is.) :)

BAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Now, that may not be a bad idea...

Yes, you can bring candy. I work for American Airlines.

my guess is you CAN bring the candy as far as the airline is concerned, However the bigger question should be can you get it past security? My guess is yes. I don't see why the airline itself would care
